International Youth Day, which falls on August 12, is an annual occasion to pay tribute to the capabilities and achievements of youth and their impactful role in shaping the future of the country, said the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) in a statement on that occasion.
This day also constitutes an important platform to launch further youth initiatives and programs based on innovation and creativity, the Ministry added.
In its statement, the Ministry highlighted the substantial role of the Federal Youth Authority in enhancing youth capacities and empowering them to assume responsibilities and innovate. The ministry also lauded the Authority's role in the successful transformation from the stage of supporting youth to enhancing their leadership spirit and getting them involved in the decision-making process.
The ministry pointed out that youth possess unique energies and potentials, in addition to their ability to communicate effectively, keep up to date with the latest developments and digital technologies. This would contribute to the well-being of the UAE society and building a sustainable future for the country.
In the same vein, MoHAP has affirmed its commitment to supporting national efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic and achieve recovery, something that can be achieved by adhering to all precautionary measures and preserving the gains through concerted governmental and communal efforts.
Such an approach clearly reflects the commitment of youth to the vision of the wise government, which places the health and protection of society as a top priority, in order to continue the march of leadership and excellence that consolidates the country's competitive position.
