The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has organized an awareness-raising workshop to discuss the Federal Decree Law No. (10) of 2022 concerning the Regulation of Births and Deaths Registry and introduce government and private health professionals to the law, its provisions, and articles.
The event, chaired by HE Dr. Hussein Abdul Rahman Al Rand, MoHAP's Assistant Undersecretary for the Public Health Sector, comes as part of the ministry's ongoing efforts to promote stakeholders' awareness of recent health laws and regulations to guarantee their proper implementation according to the best global practices.
Dr Lubna Al Shaali, Director of the Public Health Policy Department, was present at the workshop. Dr Nada Hassan Al Marzouqi, Director of the Public Health and Prevention Department, Adviser Hamdy Abdullah, Adviser Dr. Abdul Nasser bin Salem, and Dr. Rasha Salama, Public Health Advisor.
The workshop featured a detailed presentation on the provisions of the Federal Decree-Law No. (10) of 2022, as well as a thoughtful discussion of some of its articles.
Dr. Hussein Al Rand stressed that MoHAP has always been keen to constantly upgrade its health laws and legislation to keep up with all societal changes. "The regular upgrade of our laws and legislation aims to provide regulatory and control services that meet the highest quality standards, simplify and enrich customer experience."
Al Rand stated that the workshop's purpose was to foster legal culture, clarify the terms of the Decree-Law, and create an optimal atmosphere that facilitates the implementation of its objectives.
For her part, Dr. Lubna Al Shaali said that the workshop provided an ideal platform to discuss the Federal Decree-Law No. (10) of 2022 in details and introduce public and private health professionals to the law's articles simply and straightforwardly.
She added that the goal of the new legislation is to clarify and simplify procedures of registering births and deaths, regulate the issuance of birth or death certificates and reports and define the issues that are to be handled by competent judicial authorities and the issues that can be addressed by the Births and Deaths Committees.
