Under the theme the “UAE Innovates towards the Next 50”, the Ministry of Health and Prevention, MoHAP, has recently revealed the agenda of its activities and events which will take place in the whole medical facilities and districts during the “UAE Innovation Month – February 2020”.
This includes launching a number of innovative projects and holding conferences, seminars, and exhibitions of the latest technologies in innovation in the healthcare field.
Running from February 6, the main platform of MoHAP activities and events will be MoHAP’s Training & Development Center in Sharjah, with the aim of stimulating innovative thinking in the health field and consolidating a culture of innovation among employees with the participation of university students to enhance and spread the spirit of innovation and enrich the diversity in the events.
Employing Innovation Tools
HE Dr. Youssif Al Serkal, Assistant Undersecretary for the Ministry’s Hospitals Sector and Chairman of the Innovation Committee, said: “MoHAP makes innovation a top priority in its programs and strives to attract the latest innovations in the field of quality of health services, as per the goals of the National Innovation Strategy, which is a key pillar for all government sectors towards employing innovation tools to enhance the efficiency of the government sector, and to improve the governmental services for individuals and entities.”
Our goal is to place the UAE as one of the world’s most innovative countries, thanks to the abundance of advanced and innovative experiences, resources, legislation and infrastructure, employment of robotics and artificial intelligence capabilities to raise the level of health services efficiency.
A Proactive and Innovative Government
HE Awad Saghir Al Ketbi, Assistant Undersecretary of the Support Services Sector, said: “The UAE Innovation Month enhances the concept of innovation to be an integral part of the government work and turns it into an interactive state, in which each employee plays his role to support the government system of excellence, within the framework of a proactive and innovative government. Our endeavors to develop the health system and achieve the future goals of the country in the health sector depends primarily on innovation and the employment of modern technology.”
“MoHAP is keen to transform its activities and initiatives during the "UAE Innovation Month " into an incubator for innovation, through its capabilities and platforms that help transform ideas and creativity into realistic projects that benefit society at large, in line with the trends of wise government and pursuant to the National Innovation Strategy in terms of consolidating the culture of innovation in the institutional work environment, and improving the quality of work systems as per international standards, in order to achieve leadership in performance and innovation for the happiness of our customers,” Al Ketbi pointed out.
International Conferences
MoHAP activities during the “UAE Innovation Month” will include the launching of the Innovation Award for Health in its first edition, the launching of Taqat platform to showcase the capabilities of the Ministry’s employees, in addition to the organization of the first-of-its-kind event nationwide, which is the 2nd Emirates Pediatric Intensive Care Conference (EPIC), the 3rd Annual Conference on Innovation in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, the AI Conference in Healthcare.
In addition, MoHAP is planning to launch an innovative system for recruitment and development using artificial intelligence, with the aim of effectively managing the recruitment process in the ministry and developing employee skills and talent management.
Training Programs
Also, a number of training programs will be held, such as the VR-Based Leadership Lab, the Innovation Studio show which provides practical experience for some of the technologies of the fourth industrial revolution, a platform for innovation and its importance in the UAE, the role of innovation in development, competitiveness and artificial intelligence, Shaping the Future Workshop and employment of innovation in the health field.
The Health in the Next 50 Years
Furthermore, a number of exhibitions will be organized during the “UAE Innovation Month”, including the "transition to the future" exhibition "Health in 50 Years", and the Health Research Exhibition 2020, in addition to launching 5-day innovative exhibition featuring 12 pavilions to showcase the latest health innovations at the Sharjah Medical District, the “UAE Innovation Month” Exhibition at the Ras Al Khaimah Medical District, the Health Innovation Exhibition to enhance the quality of life at Fujairah Hospital, Primary Health Care Fujairah, Masafi Hospital, Fujairah Medical District and other participating entities.
Innovation Expo
Other activities events include organizing field trips such as the village initiative, which includes a presentation of innovative ideas from students and employees, brainstorming sessions, honoring innovators, hosting innovators from the people with determination who managed to overcome their disability, the marketing day event for the innovation district, a presentation of innovative projects by university students, in addition to the Innovation Expo and other innovative events.
