HE Dr. Mohammed Salim Al Olama, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP), stressed that children in the UAE enjoy all the rights that empower and support them. These rights are protected by laws and legislation that consolidate their role and status in society.
Speaking on the occasion of Emirati Children's Day, which falls on March 15 of every year, Al Olama highlighted the significance of dedicating a day to Emirati children, stating that the annual occasion reflects the UAE’s commitment to protecting their rights and building a promising future for them.
He noted that the UAE will continue to support children through projects and initiatives that promote their healthy and sound upbringing.
Dr. Al Olama emphasized that the UAE leadership will spare no effort to overcome challenges that may hinder children's preparation and qualification to become the future generation, who will continue to advance the country's development and progress.
"The Ministry's celebration of this occasion, under the theme "Children’s rights to a safe and sustainable environment," aimed to shed light on the country's achievements in the field of child care. Additionally, it aimed to support government initiatives designed to promote community awareness about the essential significance of ensuring children's future through their rights to health, food, decent housing, and sustainable development.
His Excellency praised the innovative initiatives led by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the mother of the Nation, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), adding that such initiatives will not only protect children but also ensure their rights, reflecting the UAE’s commitment to securing the future of its children.
