On the sidelines of MOHAP participation at Arabi Health Conference and Congress, H.E. Abdul Rahman Mohammad Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention met Evangelos Kotsopoulos, CEO of Sonic Healthcare and the accompanying delegation.
Attended by assistant undersecretaries, the meeting discussed methods of developing cooperation in healthcare sector and artificial intelligence. H.E. Al Owais asserted that the UAE government is keen to utilize cutting-edge technology to serve all sectors. The UAE has adopted a comprehensive AI strategy in order to develop government services at all sectors, including healthcare sector. MOHAP is committed to developing the use of modern technology in line with developing human capabilities in order to provide world-class services. H.E. Al Owais also explained Sonic delegation that the UAE is drafting the Patient Privacy and Genetic Data law. Meeting also discussed MOHAP's efforts towards establishing genome lab at Al Qassimi Hospital in Sharjah.
Additionally, parties discussed most recent UAE innovations in medical equipment and MOHAP initiative for developing the healthcare sector according to best international standards and realize highest satisfaction levels among citizens and residents.
