The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Make a Wish Foundation to bring happiness and joy to the children aged 3 – 18 years, who are receiving their treatment at MoHAP’s hospitals, by making their wishes come true.
The MoU was signed by His Excellency Dr. Youssif Al Serkal, Director-General of the Emirates Health Services Corporation, and Hani Al-Zubaidi, CEO, Make a Wish Foundation.
Special importance to children’s health
“The UAE’s strategies and plans attach special importance to children’s health. The Health Ministry, in turn, is adopting ambitious health plans, policies, programs, and initiatives to improve childcare services,” said Dr. Youssif Al Serkal.
The ministry is also keen to join forces with various institutions that can help enhance children’s health services to alleviate their suffering and provide them with appropriate and high-quality treatment. This is in line with the ministry’s strategy to offer world-class, comprehensive, and innovative healthcare services.
Lauding the efforts of the Foundation to strengthen social responsibility values by supporting children with critical illnesses and granting their wishes, Al Serkal added that according to this MoU, the Health Ministry will provide Make a Wish Foundation with all the data and information of the eligible children, in accordance with the ministry’s policies and regulations.
Making wishes come true
Hani Al-Zubaidi said the Foundation pursues its strategy to grant the wishes of the largest possible number of children with critical illnesses, explaining that the agreement will make it easier to reach children with critical illnesses to bring happiness to them and their families.
Al-Zubaidi praised the significant role MoHAP plays in supporting philanthropy that aims to spread happiness among community members, reinforcing the healthcare sector, and achieving sustainability in health services, thanks to the provision of an integrated and world-class care network to ensure that all individuals receive the best health services, in accordance with the highest international accreditation standards.
“We’ll pursue to sign more agreements with public and private bodies, as this would help the Foundation grant the largest number of children’s wishes and spread hope and happiness among them,” Al-Zubaidi concluded.
