MoHAP Undersecretary visits Dibba Al-Fujairah Hospital to follow up on COVID-19 patients

As part of the relentless efforts of the Ministry of Health and Prevention, MoHAP, to provide patients with the best healthcare and therapeutic services in accordance with the best international standards, HE Dr. Mohamed Salim Al Olama, the Undersecretary of MoHAP and Head of Board of Directors of the Emirates Health Services Corporation, recently visited Dibba Al-Fujairah Hospital and Dibba Al-Hisn Health Care Center.

The visit is one of a series of field visits conducted by Al Olama to communicate directly with COVID-19 patients and to make sure that they receive the appropriate health and mental care. It also aims to ascertain the operational readiness levels and the provision of medical supplies and equipment, as well as the sufficiency of drug stockpile.

Praising the performance

During the tour, Al Olama was accompanied by HE Excellency Dr. Youssif Al Serkal, Director-General of the Emirates Health Services Corporation and Dr. Muhammad Abdullah Saeed, Director of Fujairah Medical District, where he inspected procedures for patient registration and the protocols used for screening infected cases and close contacts.

Al Olama also toured isolation rooms in emergency departments and the intensive care department to follow up on patient’s conditions and available equipment, in addition to learning more about the mechanism of rapid testing thanking the administrative and medical cadres in the front line of defense, including doctors, nursing, paramedics, assistants, administrators, and fieldwork crews.

He commended the tremendous efforts of all those working in the front line of defense and their dedication to providing the best healthcare services and maintaining the health and safety of community members, emphasizing the importance of conducting regular examinations for the medical cadres to continue their impressive role in fighting COVID-19.

On the sidelines of the tour, the Undersecretary of MoHAP inspected the work progress of the positive pressure operating room project which brings together several systems and features in terms of the electricity and medical equipment-related systems. The project is expected to be delivered by the end of the year.

Effective and well-thought-out measures

“MoHAP is keen to examine the efficiency of healthcare services in its facilities and to support the administrative and medical cadres in the front line of defense to boost their morale and to support their efforts which have contributed to increasing COVID-19 survival rate in the country, thanks to the directives and support of the wise leadership to harness the country's capabilities through effective and proactive measures to provide distinguished health care to protect the health of society from the repercussions of the global pandemic,”

The UAE’s health system has proven the competency and capability of innovating preventive, curative solutions that respond effectively, in accordance with WHO’s reports.

Al Olama pointed out that the cohesion and solidarity of individuals and the increased awareness about the importance of adhering to the precautionary measures government have significantly contributed to reducing the number of infected cases and relieving pressure on the first line of defense.

“MoHAP is working relentlessly and tirelessly to step up its testing campaigns nationwide to help detect the infected cases in the early stages of the disease to quarantine them and identify their close contacts,” he added.

Al Olama concluded that MoHAP remains fully committed to supporting patients and providing them with the best treatment and drug protocols, as well as the best levels of health care to help them recover as soon as possible.
