The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) has organized a panel discussion with people of determination to gather their insights and feedback as part of its ongoing efforts to meet the objectives of the UAE's Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme.
Launched recently by the UAE government, the programme aims to streamline government procedures and foster an innovative service environment, fulfilling the UAE government's pledge towards future-oriented services.
The programme also aims to simplify service procedures, enhance customer satisfaction, and improve community quality of life. Additionally, the programme seeks to create a more efficient governmental framework that not only speeds up transactions but also makes them more accessible, thereby attracting talent and stimulating business environments.
Held at Emirates Towers in Dubai, the event was attended by HE Abdullah Ahli, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Support Services Sector and Mohamed bin Taliah, Chief of Government Services for the UAE Government, as well as representatives from Emirates Health Services, MoHAP’s strategic partner.
Fast and effective services
HE Dr Mohammed Salim Al Olama, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health and Prevention, emphasized that the ministry is committed to supporting the objectives of the Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme and collaborating with relevant authorities to achieve the country’s vision of providing fast and effective services to the community, enhancing the country's competitiveness, and developing a state-of-the-art health system.
“The panel discussion with people of determination is part of our strategy aimed at enhancing interaction and direct communication with various segments of society, benefiting from their opinions and ideas to develop services and satisfy customers. And by organizing customer councils, we seek to promote a culture of participatory design, ensuring the provision of customized services based on customers' preferences and needs,” Al Olama said.
Al Olama stated that speeding up procedures and simplifying transactions is a top priority at the ministry. “We are tirelessly working to re-engineer services and employ the latest digital technologies to analyse customer needs and provide proactive solutions that meet and exceed their expectations. Driven by the objectives of the Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme, the government's directives, and 'We the UAE 2031' vision,” we will spare no effort to enhance the efficiency, quality, and flexibility of government services, rendering an outstanding user experience in the health sector.”
A series of initiatives
For his part, HE Abdullah Ahli clarified that the dialogue session is one of many initiatives launched by MoHAP to involve people of determination in implementing the Zero Bureaucracy Programme. By engaging this social segment, the Ministry seeks to design services that are both faster and simpler, allowing for direct feedback on user experiences. “We look forward to establishing a participatory environment between the Ministry and its customers, facilitating the exchange of ideas to enhance and develop the quality of the Ministry’s services through direct meetings, questionnaires, and discussions with all customers, including people of determination.”
Ahli noted that the meeting’s objectives were achieved, with the Zero Bureaucracy Programme team at the Ministry set to collect, document, and categorize all ideas and initiatives discussed during the session. This will enable them to analyse these inputs and leverage innovative and effective ideas that align with the programme’s goals.
He also commended the positive interaction during the session, emphasizing that the constructive ideas and proposals discussed are vital and support MoHAP’s efforts to realize the Zero government Bureaucracy Programme while meeting the specific needs and expectations of people of determination.
Workshop and questionnaire
As part of its ongoing efforts to implement the Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme, the Ministry of Health and Prevention has recently held a workshop in collaboration with the programme's team from the Prime Minister's Office. This workshop aimed to outline the programme’s objectives and procedures, explaining the evaluation criteria, system operations, and work plans. Additionally, the Ministry launched a questionnaire for its employees and customers from both public and private sectors to enhance their involvement in the development process by evaluating the effectiveness of improvements made in streamlining procedures, eliminating unnecessary requirements, and fostering a leading user experience in the health sector.
