HE Abdulrahman bin Mohammad Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention,Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs, has emphasized that the UAE will continue to extend a helping hand to all those in need around the world, irrespective of their religion, race or color, adding that the country’s humanitarian aid has proudly reached out to all parts of the globe.
Speaking on the occasion of World Humanitarian Day, Al Owais said: "The UAE has occupied a prominent regional and international position in the humanitarian work sector thanks to the solid foundations laid by the nation’s founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who had transformed humanitarian work into one of the country’s most important pillars."
The minister lauded the country’s relentless efforts made, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to foster a culture of humanitarian work nationwide and enhance the country's role in providing development and humanitarian aid.
He stressed that the national humanitarian efforts have become a sustainable approach thatturned the concept of giving and contribution into an authentic value of the country’s past, present, and future. The minister underscored that the UAE will not hesitate to support the least fortunate countries and people, wherever they are, through charitable initiatives that would benefit millions of the needy.
“Therefore, our country has launched a series of humanitarian projects and provided aid in response to the many challenges brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic, where it was at the forefront of the world nations distributing and transferring vaccines and medical aid to about 108 countries," Al Owais stated.
HE Dr Mohammed Salim Al Olama, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP), emphasised that the UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has proved its excellence in the field of humanitarian action and sustainable giving.
Speaking on the occasion of World Humanitarian Day, Al Olama said: "The UAE has always been keen to sow the seeds of giving and philanthropy and been exceptionally able to make remarkable achievements in the field of humanitarianaction. The UAE has rightfully risen to the top of regional and global philanthropists thanks to its humanitarian programs intended to aid the needy all over the world.”
“Humanitarian action has become a constant approach and an integral part of the UAE’s moral obligation towards the less fortunate peoples, and is also one of the country’s guiding principles for the next fifty years. Through this approach, the UAE seeks to establish a system of sustainable humanitarian work”.
He stated that the UAE’s humanitarian imprint can be seen everywhere in the world as the country has always been keen to offer comprehensive humanitarian care services to those in need wherever they are, by Emirati people who are proudly offering support and assistance to all those in need.
The UAE will remain a global role model for unlimited humanitarian giving, so it can justifiably and rightfully be proud of its history, which is full of honorable human stances. Such a rich history will remain a great legacy that we pass down from generation to generation, Al Olama further said.
