The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has wrapped up its participation in GITEX Global 2023, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from October 16–20, exhibiting a suite of its latest smart health initiatives and digital solutions.
The Ministry's stand at GITEX, one of the biggest and most important regional and international tech events, drew a diverse crowd of visitors, stakeholders, officials, and VIPs. The gathering also provided a platform for exchanging expertise and insights with specialized regional and international private entities.
Digital Strategies
HE Ahmed Ali Al Dashti, Assistant Undersecretary for the Support Services Sector, reaffirmed the Ministry's keenness to take part in every new edition of GITEX Global to showcase its cutting-edge health projects and services.
Al Dashti added that MoHAP’s new projects and services are meticulously developed to bolster its digital transformation journey and forward-looking strategy aimed at expediting digitization in services, according to the benchmarks set by the Digital Government Strategy 2025 and the wise directives of the leadership.
“We are committed to shaping a future where health services are smart, integrated, user-friendly, swift, and tailored to meet customer needs, all while leveraging a world-class digital infrastructure,” Al Dashti stated.
Digital Transformation
For his part, Samir Al Khouri, Acting Director of the Smart Health Department, highlighted that the health projects and services showcased at GITEX over the five-day event captivated the attendees who were introduced to innovative digital health solutions powered by the latest technologies.
“The Ministry will make every possible effort to advance the health sector and bring about a significant leap towards integrating information technology with health services, a move aimed at enhancing customer satisfaction,” Al Khouri added.
Innovative Projects
During the event, MoHAP unveiled several key projects, including an updated version of "Al Hosn" app, featuring new functionalities such as tracking vaccinations for children from birth to 18 years of age.
Additionally, MoHAP launched the nation's first AI-Powered Centre of Excellence for the health sector to enhance services related to licencing, organ donor examinations, management of strategic medicine stocks, birth and death data analysis, crisis management, emergency response, disaster preparedness, and cybersecurity.
MoHAP also introduced a user-friendly medical product registration directory accessible through "WhatsApp". This initiative aims to streamline community’s access to information about registered medicines in the country, ensure adherence to treatment plans, and reduce medication errors through the use of digital technologies in healthcare services.
