The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has highlighted the latest developments introduced to the WhatsApp service for issuing birth certificates and collaborative browsing as well as the predictive support for customer options as part of its celebration of the UAE Innovation Month 2022.
The ministry emphasized that its innovative services will certainly enrich customers’ experience and promote smooth and simplified communication channels based on advanced systems while adopting the best international practices. “This comes in line with our commitment to play a pivotal role in realizing the digital government objectives,” the ministry said.
The WhatsApp service relies on artificial intelligence techniques to respond to customer inquiries effectively through a virtual assistant, which helps everyone avail of the service easily and quickly. Thanks to this particular service, customers will now be able to receive birth certificates without the need to visit any of MoHAP customer service centres.
Equally important, the service is end to end encrypted within an authenticated "WhatsApp" account, meaning the highest levels of security and reliability is guaranteed.
Moreover, the innovative collaborative browsing service covers two of the ministry’s priority services, including healthcare professionals' assessment and pharmaceutical facilities licensing. The new service will allow the customer support team to serve customers effectively where it will provide access to customers’ screens to guide and direct them through the service, fill out forms on their behalf and cooperate with them in real-time.
The service also provides video calls and visual communication, instant chat, and illustration tools with the possibility of sharing required files, among other features that would lead to a faster solution to complete customer transactions.
Innovation in digital transformation
Stressing the importance of the UAE Innovation Month, HE Abdullah Ahli, Acting Assistant Under-Secretary for the Support Services Sector, stressed that the annual occasion provides an ideal opportunity to shed light on the latest developments introduced to MoHAP’s innovative services to ensure customers’ satisfaction, adding that such smart services and Apps will further fuel the ministry’s efforts being made to speed up the digital transformation process.
The ministry is making every effort to keep pace with the latest technological developments, adopt the latest artificial intelligence techniques, and employ smart predictive techniques to analyze data and digitize government work in accordance with best practices and international standards and the Fourth Industrial Revolution,” Ahli said.

For his part, Samir Al Khoury, Director of the IT Department, MoHAP, said: “The WhatsApp service for issuing birth certificates and collaborative browsing will help catapult customers’ experience into new levels of excellence and will contribute to meeting their needs faster than ever before thus facilitating the process of transactions.
The interactive WhatsApp chat will also help respond to customers’ inquiries and questions about services while employing artificial intelligence to promote the App’s ability to meet customers’ needs and provide access to integrated smart services package,” Al Khoury added.
