HE Abdulrahman bin Mohammad Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) stressed that the cabinet’s decision to set up the "National Public Health Committee" is a step in the right direction towards strengthening the national healthcare system.

Al Owais emphasized that the UAE’s vision for the next fifty years pays utmost attention to upgrading the country’s health system thanks to the wise directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who accord priority to advancing the wellbeing of both Emiratis and residents.

"Our leadership has always been keen to develop a sustainable healthcare system, enhance and protect the community by creating a preventive health system capable of efficiently responding to various health challenges,” the minister added.

“The formation of the "National Public Health Committee" and the restructuring of the "UAE Health Council" will certainly pave the way for a new phase of integration and coordination between the ministry, health authorities, and various federal and local institutions and bodies.

In addition to unifying visions and strategies, enhancing the efficiency of decisions as well as the effectiveness of solutions tailored to address health challenges, the committee, together with the council, will work hand in hand to increase the level of national readiness, preparedness, and response to professionally confront health challenges and backup national health entities while working as a team to achieve the country’s national health goals," the minister said.

Al Owais went on to say that the UAE's unprecedented milestones made in the healthcare sector would not have been possible had it not been for the wise vision and directives of our leadership. This confirms the fact that we are moving towards new leadership frontiers in the healthcare industry, driven by an integrated system that has developed into a role model in preparedness and ability to evolve and respond to all developments.
