MoHAP organises virtual session on Designing Next 50 project for youth councils and university students

The Ministry of Health and Prevention, MoHAP, is organising a virtual session on “Designing the Next 50” project for university and school students and the Emirates Youth Council, in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to encourage engagement of the community in shaping the future of the UAE.

The project will be overseen by the 50-year development plan committee, chaired by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs.

The session, which will be held in the presence of His Excellency Abdul Rahman bin Mohammed Al Owais, Minister of Health, and a number of senior officials, will touch on several vital topics, most important of which is consolidating health practices among community members and strengthening a preventive and curative system based on smart health services, and the transition to a personal healthcare model based on the technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution to achieve the UAE's leadership in the field of health.

Shaping the future

“The UAE is committed to the engagement of university and school students in the project for designing the next 50 years, especially in the health domain within the social pillar. The UAE’s wise leadership has attached special importance to our youth as they believe in their role in enhancing innovation, shaping the future, and pursuing the march of achievements, by enriching the next 50 plan for the health sector with creative ideas, engaging youth in future plans, identifying challenges, and boosting knowledge to meet the aspirations of the UAE leadership and society and map the best future of the country,” said Abdul Rahman bin Mohammed Al Owais.

Al Owais highlighted the importance of convening with university students and youth councils, as part of this year’s agenda of the next-fifty year as it represents a milestone and roadmap for the UAE Centennial 2071, by mobilizing efforts, resources, and investing in minds, experiences, and talents.

“The goal is to create a community vision that enhances involvement community members with their aspirations, ideas, and innovative proposals to contribute to help develop the comprehensive development plan for the next fifty years,” Al-Owais concluded.

The “Designing the Next 50” initiatives is overseen by the 50-year development plan committee,, which works actively with various entities to engage community members in developing the next 50 years to enrich the comprehensive development plan with new ideas and identify challenges facing community segments and expand the government knowledge to meet the aspirations of people for a better future.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum launched the “Designing Next 50” project to enhance the involvement of community members in developing the components of the UAE’s comprehensive development plan for the UAE, and identifying the future paths the UAE is focusing on during the period from 2021 to 2071.

The project is carried out under the supervision of the High Committee for the Next 50, chaired by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs.
