During his inspection tour at Al Kuwait Hospital, Dubai, on Thursday 2 May, His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Salim Al Olama, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP), honoured, the first two Emirati female doctors, Dr. Fayeza Ahmed Youssef and Dr. Aisha Al Shiba, who were graduated from the Arab Board of Health Specializations. The two doctors, whose specialties are ENT Head & Neck with surgical and medical management, are considered the first batch of Emirati females.
Commenting on this achievement, Dr. Al Olama said that the Ministry is proud of the medical national competencies since they form a qualitative addition to the country’s healthcare system, pointing to MoHAP’s commitment to attracting and developing Emirati talents and competencies in order to speed up the pace of Emiratization of this vital sector.
Al Olama added that the Ministry is also committed to providing a distinguished opportunity for medical specialty graduates through the joining of MoHAP’s internationally accredited hospitals which are marked by their dynamic and innovative environment, in addition to their vital role in exploring the UAE’s and world’s future healthcare in accordance with best international practices.
“The health sector is one of the country’s fast-growing sectors. In order to keep up the pace with this rapid growth, we always bet on our national medical competencies equipped with future skills,” Al Olama noted.
MoHAP Continues to Make Great Strides Towards a Better Healthcare Future
Dr. Mohamed Salim Al Olama, accompanied by His Excellency Dr. Yousif Al Serkal, Assistant Undersecretary for the Hospitals Sector, began his tour at Al Kuwait Hospital, Dubai, by visiting various departments including; the reception, clinics, laboratory, pharmacy and Medical Equipment Department.
He also inspected the VIP and ENT Departments, praising the Hospital workflow. On the other hand, Al Olama directed to proceed with the development of the operating room and provide it with the latest technologies.
Dr. Al Olama stressed MoHAP’s commitment to providing comprehensive and innovative healthcare services for the happiness of Hospital’s patients and visitors, pointing out that Ministry continues to proceed steadily towards its objectives of making positive changes in health care delivery and pursuing the improvement of the patient treatment journey.
“This will pave the way towards a new chapter of integrating the healthcare into digital services and Artificial Intelligence (AI), in addition to counting on a proactive therapeutic healthcare model in terms of the diagnosis and treatment of some diseases,” said Al Olama.
Exploiting Future Technologies
In turn, Dr. Al Serkal said that MoHAP has comprehensive studies and time-bound plans to provide hospitals with their needs in accordance with the standards that fulfill patients’ expectation and their confidence in MoHAP.
He added that the Ministry is on the cusp of a new phase of its march towards universality, stressing MoHAP’s determination to make use of the medical innovations and future generation technologies in improving diagnosis and treatment options. This will help patients enjoy their treatment journey at MoHAP’s facilities
Al Serkal hailed the role of national professionals in promoting healthcare system in accordance with the aspirations of the National Agenda of the UAE Vision 2021.
