The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has added another milestone to its record of international excellence, receiving the highest certification from the Global Innovation Institute (GInI): "Certified Innovative Government Organisation—Excellence Level."
MoHAP also earned the Accreditation of an Accelerator Program by GInI, making it the first federal entity to be granted this certification.
The Ministry has further solidified its status as a leader in innovation by securing the ISO 56002 certification in innovation management in recognition of its success in enhancing its innovation processes and competitiveness, which are key to fostering a robust organisational innovation culture aimed at boosting the Ministry’s reputation and driving sustainable growth.
These achievements have been driven by MoHAP’s commitment to implementing the highest international standards in organisational innovation, adopting global best practices to enhance the innovation framework, and continuously developing national talents and capabilities.
The Ministry’s integrated approach has led to significant developments in the quality of health services, further cementing the UAE's standing as a premier global destination for sustainable innovation and improving its competitiveness on the international stage.
H.E. Salem Al Darmaki, Advisor to the Minister of Health and Prevention, received the two certificates on behalf of H.E. Dr. Mohammed Salim Al Olama, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health and Prevention, during a ceremony held in Dubai. The awards were presented by Mohannad Shaheen, Regional Director for the Middle East and Africa, at the Global Innovation Institute, with Saqr Al Humairi, Chief Innovation Officer, and Wedad Bu Humaid, Director of the Government Communications Department, MoHAP, also in attendance.
Remarkable achievements
H.E. Dr. Mohammed Salim Al Olama stated: "The remarkable achievements we have made would not have been possible had it not been for the UAE government's commitment to positioning the country as one of the most innovative nations in the world, in line with the UAE Centennial 2071. The Ministry prioritises innovation within its programs, and we are continuously integrating the latest advancements in quality health services in line with the National Strategy for Advanced Innovation," he said.
He continued, "The Ministry is investing in the future of healthcare through an integrated innovation ecosystem, bringing together talented national experts, advanced technologies, and global strategic partnerships. Our goal is to keep pace with global advancements and lead the transformation of the health sector with innovative solutions that anticipate and meet the needs of future generations."
Dr. Al Olama commended the Ministry’s teams for their dedication to building an environment that encourages growth and innovation, emphasising the importance of leveraging the Ministry's technological infrastructure and expanding research centres to be better prepared for future challenges.
He emphasised that the Ministry is committed to integrating innovative technologies, leveraging predictive data, and boosting readiness for disease prevention to strengthen the UAE’s position as a global leader in health innovation."
