The International Day of Human Fraternity, which is celebrated on February 4 of every year, reflects the global confidence in the leading role played by the UAE in promoting the values of tolerance, coexistence and respect for others’ cultures and religions, said HE Dr. Mohammad Salim Al Olama, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health and Prevention and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Health Services (EHS).
“Human Fraternity” has always been a fundamental value that makes the Emirati society special and is being strengthened on the global scale by cementing the values of brotherhood, harmony and building bridges of communication with others to enhance the common human values including understanding and coexistence. This comes in line with the UAE’s integrated system of social, cultural and civilizational concepts and behaviours, Al Olama added.
The EHS Chairman stressed that the UAE has become a global model for tolerance and fraternity, thanks to the directives of the country’s wise government, which made the country a global destination for coexistence and human fraternity.
In the healthcare sector, for example, the UAE is leading by example by guaranteeing the right to treatment, cure and prevention of diseases to everyone without any discrimination. In addition, the Ministry of Health provides many free health services including vaccination, awareness campaigns, maternity and childhood services, among others, in a manner that reflects the UAE’s values and principles and promotes the bright image of the UAE globally, Al-Olama underlined.
