Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health and Prevention and Serbian Ambassador to the UAE discuss cooperation in the health sector

His Excellency (H.E.) Dr. Mohammad Salim Al Olama, Undersecretary for the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) recently met HE Milos Perisic, the Serbian ambassador to the UAE, to discuss the possibility of further developing bilateral cooperation in the exchange and sharing of knowledge and experiences in the health sectors of both countries. The meeting, which was held at the Ministry's headquarters in Abu Dhabi, was also attended by Doctor Essa Bin Jakka Al Mansouri, Director, International Health Relations, MOHAP.

The meeting focused on discussions on how to further enhance the bilateral relations of the two countries, especially in the field of health--covering the seamless exchange of knowledge, experience and training; the development of investment opportunities; building bridges of communication between health institutions of UAE and Serbia and the exchange of medical and scientific expertise. Also discussed during the meeting was the possibility of sending Emirati patients to physiotherapy and rehabilitation centers in Serbia and organizing visits for doctors and consultants in different medical specialties.

The Undersecretary praised the new fruitful cooperation and the development of healthy relations between the two countries—pointing out the importance of the Ministry’s keenness to exchange health experiences and expertise from different health entities in the world. He also highlighted MOHAP’s achievements in providing the best health and smart services using artificial intelligence and the latest technologies in the field of healthcare and other technologies which translate the government’s directions to become a leading global model in the proactive response to future challenges in the health field.

The Serbian Ambassador praised the remarkable development achieved by the health sector in the UAE and the excellence of its health system, stressing the desire of his country to develop the level of relations between the two countries in the field of health. The Serbian Ambassador shared that a Serbian team was tasked to set up, establish and manage diabetes centers. The team has visited the UAE in order to learn more about managing diabetes centers. He also stressed that the meeting was a valuable opportunity to develop health relations and explore opportunities for enhancing cooperation and exchanging experiences and medical delegations between the two countries.
