Ministry of Health and Prevention wins two categories in the Mohammed Bin Rashid Government Excellence Award

The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has added another feather to its cap by winning two categories in the Mohammed Bin Rashid Government Excellence Award including the Best Entity in the field of innovation, and Best Entity for Remote Work Applications.

Dr. Mona Obeid Al Ayyan and Dr. Issam Mohammad Nour Al Zarouni, have been also awarded The Prime Minister’s Medal for Distinguished Doctorwhile Wedad Bu Hamid, Director of the Government Communication Department at the Ministry, received The Prime Minister’s Medal for the field of Government Communication.

During an award ceremony held yesterday at Expo 2020 Dubai by the UAE government, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, honoured winners of the 6th edition of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Government Excellence Award, which was launched in 2009 under the umbrella of Sheikh Khalifa Government Excellence Programme (SKGEP).

Inspirational Leadership

Speaking on the occasion, Al Owais expressed his deepest thanks and gratitude to the UAE Vice President for honoring the ministry, stressing that the UAE leadership has always been exceptional and inspirational, steering the ship towards innovation, creativity and excellence.

Al Owais said: “Today, the ministry has been granted the highest government excellence honor in the UAE. This is definitely the result of our strenuous efforts being made to hit new heights of excellence and innovation. This honor places additional responsibilities on our shoulders to preserve the country’s gains and redouble our efforts to deliver the best that we can”.

Bridge to the future

“The UAE government excellence system represents a bridge to the future, given it has been designed based on a forward-looking vision to promote the values of excellence and innovation and improve the quality of life for the UAE people. In addition to enhancing the country’s readiness, flexibility and pro-activeness in handling challenges and global changes, it will also drive the UAE’s competitiveness and leadership to the next level across all fields,” the minister added.

Enhancing confidence in MoHAP services

For his part, HE Dr. Mohamed Salim Al Olama, Undersecretary of the Ministry, has applauded the impressive results achieved by the ministry, winning two categories in the Mohammed Bin Rashid Government Excellence Award, adding that this achievement represents a landmark that will reinforce the community’s confidence in the efficiency of the ministry’s comprehensive and integrated health services; and stoke the fire of innovation and sustainability according to the best international standards,”.

“Since day one, our leadership has taught us that recognition is not a mere goal in itself, rather a tool for motivation and stimulating potential, and excellence is not a race that ends with being honoured but rather a complete life cycle in which a person provides his\her best,” Al Olama added.

Unlimited support

“I am very proud of being honored with The Prime Minister’s Medal for Distinguished Doctor. This is indeed an incentive and motivation for us to give the best we can in the service of community health,” Dr. Issam Mohammad Nour Al Zarouni, said.

Al Zarouni lauded the government’s unlimited support for Emirati doctors and its keen interest to provide a conducive environment that ensures professional development and growth.

He also thanked the ministry for providing the latest medical equipment, holding scientific conferences, seminars, and symposiums that always raise the capabilities and skills of the medical staff and offering doctors training and rehabilitation programmes.

Dr. Mona Obeid Al Ayyan also expressed her immense thanks and gratitude for the UAE leadership after being honored with The Prime Minister’s Medal for Distinguished Doctor.

“This honor reflects the true appreciation of the services I have offered throughout my career. Honoring creators and celebrating their achievements has become an institutional culture in the UAE and is, in fact, the biggest motivator for national cadres to redouble their efforts to serve the people,” Al Ayyan said, thanking the ministry’s leaders for their support to the medical staff and their efforts to improve community health and quality of life.

“I am truly honored, privileged and proud to receive the Prime Minister’s Medal for the field of Government Communication. This would never have been possible had it not been for the unlimited support extended by our wise leaders and their believe that excellence can be achieved by the UAE people,” said Wedad Bu Hamid, Director of the Government Communication Department.

"The outreach and communication campaigns that we regularly launch are centered on innovation, particularly when formulating their language, messages and tools. This is to come up with effective, balanced, objective and transparent content.

We have therefore adopted an innovative and effective system to manage the ministry’s initiatives, strategic planning and presence on social media platforms and other media outlets, and are doing our best to constantly enhance the skills of government communication cadres to produce innovative communication materials, measure the social awareness and increasing people’s interaction with our communication campaigns,” she added.
