The Ministry of Health and Prevention has organized a three-day virtual workshop to discuss the latest developments on the Tatmeen Platform, a highly advanced track and trace platform for pharmaceuticals and medical products, as well as to review implementation steps, and offer guidance on the platform's future course, which will bring about a paradigm shift in the UAE’s pharmaceutical sector.
The workshop comes as part of the ministry’s as ongoing preparation to operate and activate the platform and to support the execution programme of the platform’s selected supply chain partners, which will continue until next December. Later on, the initiative will include other significant pharmaceutical institutions including pharmacies, clinics, hospitals, and others.
In addition to EVOTEQ, a UAE-based provider of digital solutions for the development and management of the platform, the workshop was attended by authorized agents, manufacturers of medical products, and logistics companies.
Ahmed Ali Al Dashti, Assistant Undersecretary for the Support Services Sector, MoHAP, stressed that hosting the workshop reflects the ministry’s commitment to providing all guarantees for the successful operation of the "Tatmeen" platform. We are striving to enhance the awareness of stakeholders and partners about the platform’s work mechanisms and the solutions it provides for the pharmaceutical supply and supply chains.
"We strongly believe that everyone involved must work together in harmony to make the preparatory phase successful. We are confident that working together will help the country's pharmaceutical industry transition to a new paradigm shift," Al Dashti said, adding, that the ministry is keen to enhance its digital transformation journey in implementation of the government’s directives to make the most of digital technologies in vital projects.
For his part, Ali Al Ajmi, Director of the Digital Health Department, MoHAP, said that the webinar comes as an extension to the previous workshop, which brought together all government entities concerned with Tatmeen platform to review its qualitative advantages and shed light on the UAE’s ongoing efforts to ensure the safety and reliability of medicines imported and manufactured in the country while relying on "Smart Track" technology.
