The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has launched a new initiative to automate its daily revenue reconciliation process, a move aimed at enhancing financial governance and streamlining operations.
The new system is designed to align revenues from the ministry’s services with the Financial Management Information System (FMIS), ensuring accurate documentation and verification of transactions within the federal framework.
The initiative will support MoHAP’s ongoing efforts to strengthen financial governance and sustainability, improve resource management efficiency, and accelerate digital integration with government systems, in line with the UAE Digital Government Strategy 2025. With this step, the ministry becomes first federal entity to automate daily revenue reconciliations
Streamlining for Better Service
Developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance and the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) as well as the Digital Government, the system uses advanced technology to link financial processes automatically. This means faster reconciliation, less manual effort, and more time for decision-making based on reliable, accurate data.
This initiative is part of a series of technological upgrades by the ministry, aimed at boosting institutional efficiency and elevating the quality of its services. The new system is set to improve the accuracy of financial data in line with the highest international standards, supporting the development of the ministry’s infrastructure through a comprehensive and integrated vision. It also seeks to enhance the competitiveness, flexibility, and effectiveness of its services while aligning with the nation’s strategic goals and priorities.
Digital transformation
Several technical and operational benefits will be offered under this system, including improved accuracy of financial data, faster daily reconciliation processes, and significant time and effort savings. It also supports decision-making by providing accurate, real-time reports and statistics while enhancing digital integration with various government systems, contributing to the country's digital transformation efforts.
Stimulating innovation
H.E. Abdullah Ahmed Ahli, Acting Assistant Under-Secretary for the Support Services Sector at the Ministry, emphasised that the launch of this initiative is a key part of the Ministry's ongoing efforts to foster institutional innovation and enhance transparency and efficiency in financial operations, driven by our wise leadership’s vision to develop government services and adopt best international practices.
Enhancing Administrative Efficiency
His Excellency further added, "The Ministry is committed to integrating advanced systems that enhance administrative efficiency in collaboration with other government entities. Not only does this enhance flexibility, proactivity, and readiness within the work system, but it also streamlines procedures and utilizes cutting-edge technologies to achieve excellence in government performance, ultimately improving the quality of services provided to the community."
Improving financial process efficiency
For her part, Amna Al Mandoos, Head of the Revenue Section at MoHAP, clarified that the new system is designed to automate financial reconciliation processes, using an integrated control panel that tracks revenue movements and generates detailed reports to support decision-making.
She further noted that the department's team developed the system based on the best international standards for financial automation, ensuring compatibility with the federal financial system. This integration is key to enhancing the efficiency of financial operations.
