HE Abdul Rahman bin Mohamed Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention, stated that the UAE's healthcare sector will continue to be the nation's strongest bulwark and shield against all health risks, and it will make every effort to support the country's journey toward a brighter future.
Speaking on the occasion of Emirates Medical Day, which occurs on May 9th and is being honored for the first time in the UAE this year, the minister said, "We are very proud of all unsung heroes in the first line of defense and are grateful for their extraordinary efforts made to overcome the pandemic. They have truly become a role model for kindness and humanity, as well as a source of inspiration for everyone."
"Dedicating a specific day to celebrate and reward their achievements across the country would not only motivate them to enthusiastically give back more to their community, but will also promote the values of sustainability and help realize the UAE's future vision," Al Owais maintained.
“The Emirates Medical Day is a significant national event that brings the UAE people together to express their gratitude, and appreciation to all medical cadres and healthcare workers while also celebrating their efforts and dedication to protecting the community's health,” the minister noted.
HE Dr. Mohammad Salim Al Olama, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health and Prevention, has commended all healthcare workers for their outstanding efforts in combating the Covid-19 pandemic, adding that they truly deserve to be celebrated nationwide in recognition of their service to the nation and protecting everyone's health and safety.
"The Emirates Medical Day is a national occasion to recognize the extraordinary efforts and sacrifices made by the UAE medical cadres to safeguard the health and safety of the nation," Al Olama stated on the Emirates Medical Day, which is observed on May 9th.
“It is an occasion to express our appreciation and gratitude to the unsung heroes and encourage them to continue the good work. They are deserving of our wise leadership's unwavering support and positive energy,” Al Olama added.
"The incredible efforts and sacrifices made by the country's first line of defense while fighting the Covid-19 pandemic professionally are indeed a source of pride for all. They have caused a paradigm shift in the country's health sector and have become role models for their dedication and determination," Al Olama remarked.
"Recognizing their vital role in supporting the national development journey and medical cadres, the UAE leadership has launched several innovative projects and initiatives, including the establishment of the Frontline Heroes Office and the allocation of a special day for Emirati doctors, in addition to granting them golden visas, appreciation letters, and medals, all of which have reflected positively on their performance," stated MoHAP Undersecretary.
