The Emirates Health Services (EHS) has announced Visiting Consultants Program for September, 2021, hosting an elite group of consultants who will be visiting several hospitals that falls under the umbrella of EHS to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients in accordance with the latest international practices.
This will be the first Visiting Doctors Program to be organized in the country after being suspended for a while due the outbreak of Covid-19, something which reflects the UAE health sector's flexibility to overcome challenges and its ability to adapt to developments and continue providing health services with efficiency and excellence.
This month’s program will benefit patients from several hospitals, including Al Qassimi Hospital, Khorfakkan Hospital, and Al Qassimi Women and Children Hospital, in addition to Saqr Hospital and Al Amal Psychiatric Hospital.
The visiting physicians’ specialties cover six fields, namely; interventional surgeries, geriatric psychiatry, shoulder and elbow surgery, gynecological surgery through robotic surgery, and pediatric pulmonology.
Benefiting from international expertise
Dr. Noor Al Muhairi, Head of the Visiting Doctors Program, stressed the EHS’s keenness to develop therapeutic services provided to patients and keep abreast of the latest developments in the global medical arena.
“We are doing our best to attract the most important global competencies in complex and rare medical specialties, in order to provide advanced treatment methods that relieve patients' pain. The program will help enrich the expertise of medical staff by benefiting from international expertise, in line with the EHS’s strategy aiming to provide comprehensive and integrated health care services with international standards,” she noted.
Al Muhairi said that the reactivation of the visiting doctor's program to trains local cadres on vital specialties is a qualitative addition to the development of the program and evidence of the UAE’s success in managing and handling the Covid-19 pandemic efficiently and competently.”
“The program will help patients get the best treatment while in the country, save their time and effort, without having to bear the burden of traveling abroad for treatment especially with the current travel restrictions around the world. At the same time, the EHS will continue applying all precautionary measures during the visit of consultants to ensure their safety and protect patients and hospital doctors,” she further said.
