Ministry of Health and Prevention Reveals October’s Schedule for Visiting Consultants Program

The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) revealed details of the October Schedule of its Visiting Consultants Program.

This month’s program is attracting more than 29 Pioneer doctors and consultants from all over the world, to 11 medical facilities of the ministry who will benefit from the expertise of those consultants.

The October schedule includes the following hospitals; Obaidullah, Shaam and Saqr hospitals in Ras Al Khaimah, Al Qassimi, Kuwait, Khorfakkan, Al Qasimi Hospital for Women & Children in Sharjah, as well as Fujairah, Masafi and Dibba hospitals in Fujairah, in addition to the Physical Therapy Center and Sports Medicine Center.

While the specialties of doctors and consultants include; Cardiology, Anesthesiology, and Intensive Care, Rhinoplasty, Head and Neck Surgery, Psychiatry (Depression and Emotional Disorder, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Schizophrenia and Addiction Medicine), Neuropsychology (Autism Spectrum Disorders), Hematology, Pediatric Orthopedics.

Other specialties include; Bariatric surgery, physiotherapy and rehabilitation (spine injuries), obstetrics & gynecology and Urology using (robotic surgery), endocrinology (immunology and allergy), Nephrology, pediatric cardiology, orthopedics (shoulder and elbow), Pulmonology diseases (critical care & Interventional Bronchoscopy), Gastroenterology (gastric sleeve).

A New Strategy in Choosing Sub specialties

Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Sharif, Director of the MoHAP’s Visiting Consultants Office, said: “The Visiting Consultants Program is adopting a new strategy in terms of selecting needed Subspecialties. The program is not only relying on attracting general specialties but focusing more on the subspecialties. This helps achieve advanced treatment of patients according to their medical diagnosis.”

Al Sharif added: “This strategy also contributes to elevating the competency of the specialized medical doctors at MOHAP Hospitals and enhancing their experience and performance. This affirms that the Visiting Consultants Program is on the right track and continues to allocate its goals towards the provision of world-class, comprehensive and integrated healthcare services.”
