The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) announced the signing of a strategic agreement with Tabuk Pharmaceuticals for the supply and distribution of medical and pharmaceutical stocks during emergency situations. The agreement falls in line with the efforts to strengthen the UAE’s health security, according to the Cabinet Decision No. 39 of 2015. The supply and distribution of drugs in this manner is a crucial precautionary measure taken by most countries, including those who manufacture drugs.

The list of medicines covered under the agreement includes several products for the treatment infections and diseases that affect the digestive system, respiratory diseases, and bone diseases.

The signing ceremony was attended by H.E Dr. Mohammed Salim Al Olama, Undersecretary of the Ministry; Dr. Abdul Karim Abdullah Al Zarouni, Director of Emergency, Crisis, and Disaster Operations Center at the Ministry; and Dr. Gandhi Yaqoub, First Vice President representative of Tabuk Pharmaceuticals.

In addition, an electronic link will be maintained with the Crisis and Disaster Operations Center at the Ministry. The company will also oversee the transfer and supply of required items to the strategic medical stock warehouse of the Ministry or any other designated entity, in the event of an emergency.
