The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) has announced that it will participate in the upcoming GITEX Technology Week 2018, which will be held at the Dubai World Trade Center from October 14 to 18, 2018, to showcase its innovative health services and sustainable smart solutions. Joining GITEX conforms with the Ministry’s strategy to build advanced health information systems and implement global standards in patient care and health facility management to bring happiness to customers while improving medical quality and efficiency.
H.E. Dr. Mohammad Salim Al Olama, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health and Prevention, said that GITEX is an ideal opportunity to shed light on the Ministry’s latest smart services launched to improve the quality of the local health system and help establish a smart government according to directives of the state’s wise leaders and the common objective of the UAE Vision 2021 and the UAE Centennial 2071 to make the UAE one of the best countries in the world. Among the electronic and smart services that will be showcased at GITEX are the electronic sick leave certification attestation available to private health facilities in the country to attest the patients leaves and the electronic payment of the service fees. In addition to that, applying for permits allowing entry of imported medicines, including controlled and semi-controlled drugs, to the country can be done online for free thanks to the Ministry’s smart services.
The Ministry will also present the electronic promotional game, ‘Sanad & Rahma,’ rolled out to promote the nursing profession and encourage Emiratis to consider becoming nurses. The game uses a cartoon character present during events and activities.
