The Ministry of Health and Prevention, MoHAP, recently unveiled the schedule of its Visiting Consultants Program for March 2020. This’s month program comprises of 31 doctors from all around the world to provide diagnostic and surgical services to patients as per the latest international practices.
For the first time, the Visiting Consultants Program includes the Pediatric Plastic Surgery specialty.
Visitors to the following hospitals can take advantage of the services provided including Al Qasimi, Kuwait, Kalba, Khorfakkan, Al Qasimi for Women & Children Hospitals, Obaidallah, Saqr Hospital and Abdullah Bin Omran Hospital for Obstetrics and Gynecology in Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Masafi Hospitals in Fujairah.

Consultants’ expertise includes 26 specialties, including Dermatology, Neonatology, Physical therapy & Rehabilitation (Spine Injuries and Pain Management), Psychiatry (Depression & Bipolar Disorder), Bariatric Surgery (Upper Gastrointestinal), Orthopedic Surgery (Shoulder), and Endocrinology (Diabetes).
Others include Urology (Minimally invasive kidney stone surgery, Voiding Dysfunction & Genitourinary Reconstruction), Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine, ENT (Rhinoplasty, Rhinology & Maxillofacial Surgery and Tympanoplasty), Opthalmology (Vitreoretinal Surgery) , Gastroenterology (Chronic Reflux Management & Motility Disorders), Emergency Medicine, Gynecology (Robotic Surgery), Neurosurgery (Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery & Neurotrauma), Pediatric (Plastic Surgery, Pulmonology, Nephrology, Neurology and Hematology).

Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al-Sharif, Director of the MoHAP’s Visiting Consultants Office, said: “This month’s schedule is featuring 12 surgeons in complicated specialties, especially neurosurgery, vitreoretinal surgery, maxillofacial surgery, and pediatric plastic surgery from pioneering countries and distinguished by the excellence of their medical system. This comes as part of MoHAP’s efforts to diversify the competencies of consultants and to choose the best medical competencies in treatment areas to align with the patient’s needs.”
