The Ministry of Health and Prevention’s Training & Development Center (MoHAP’s Training & Development Center) recently hosted the “Skills Cube” initiative (communication skill) with the participation of a number of supervisory officials, directors of departments and medical districts, doctors, nurses, and technical staff.
The year-long initiative contains 12 skills including; scientific literacy, creativity, critical thinking/problem solving, leadership and empathy, tech literacy, financial literacy, collaboration, communication, adaptability, social and cultural awareness, and growth mindset.
The event aims to achieve the objectives of 'My Skill 12x12 Campaign', one of a series of programs designed to implement the strategy for the Advanced Skills National Program adopted by the UAE Cabinet to instill the concept of lifelong learning and explore the advanced skills of the Emirati society.
Promoting Innovation and Culture of Sustainable Learning
“With the aim of promoting the culture of lifelong learning. The ‘Skills Cube’ program comes as part of the National Program for Advanced Skills adopted by the UAE Cabinet to pave the way for a fertile environment for innovation and knowledge competition, qualifying national cadres capable of keeping pace with future changes and adopting a new lifestyle that maintain the UAE’s competitiveness in accordance with the government trends and UAE Centennial 2071,” said HE Awad Saghir Al Ketbi, Assistant Undersecretary of the Support Services Sector.
“Also, this program is part of MoHAP’s constant efforts to build competencies and reinforce the culture of innovation in the institutional work environment. This can be achieved by providing world-class training services,” Al Ketbi noted.
Saqr Al Hemeiri, Learning & Development Centre Director, stressed the Center’s keenness on implementing innovative training solutions to develop the employees’ skills in a smart interactive method and empowering them in the innovation, excellence and quality fields.
'My Skill 12x12 Campaign' is a training platform aims to qualify the national competencies to take part in shaping the future and facing its challenges and changes.
Communication Skill
“The month of October is dedicated to the Communication Skill, where a certified lecturer from the National Program for Advanced Skills presents the scientific material to MoHAP employees. ‘Skills Cube’ consists of four sides, the first of which symbolizes the ‘advanced skills talks’ that employees engage in about the skill of the month. A number of seminars will be held to discuss ways of spreading skills and motivating employees to participate in the journey of skills development,” added Al Hemeiri.
The second side is the "personal assessment of skills", which allows the employees to identify their most powerful skill.
The third side signifies the workshops to be held throughout the month in order to train employees to master the skill of the month, while the fourth side includes comprehensive information on advanced skills and the Strategy for the National Programme for Advanced Skills, as well as a screen for interactive videos on inspirational stories of community members who have specific skills among the 12 skills and how these skills helped them to be developed in an effective and impressive way.
