Undersecretary of Ministry of Health and Prevention visits Khorfakkan Hospital

The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) will make every possible effort to develop its health facilities according to the best international standards and specifications, said HE Dr. Mohammad Salim Al Olama, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health and Prevention.

While visiting Sharjah’s Khorfakkan Hospital, Al Olama stressed the importance of continuously upgrading the country’s health system and improving its readiness in a way that stimulates creativity and innovation and addresses arising challenges.

During the visit, Al Olama was accompanied by HE Dr. Yousuf Mohammed Al-Serkal, Assistant Undersecretary for the Hospitals Sector in the Ministry, where they toured the hospital’s departments and were briefed on the latest developments in the ICU and surgical department, which are being retrofitted according to the best international standards. Obaid Al Kindi, Director of Khorfakkan Hospital was present.

Improvements lead to excellent services

“Field visits are the best and most effective communication channel with patients. It helps listen to their suggestions and engage them in the development process of health facilities. We will thereby know which areas need improvements and thus rendering excellent services of top-notch quality,” Al Olama said.

While at the Hospital, the ministry’s undersecretary met number of patients and staff members and listened to their observations. He ordered concerned departments to take and consider their notes carefully and take corrective measures as soon as possible to ensure the delivery of quality services across all health facilities.

Al Olama called on the hospital’s cadres and management to maintain the quality and excellence of services. Our facilities are on the threshold of a new phase and we are determined to make the most of the latest medical innovations to improve diagnostic and treatment methods and ensure seamless treatment journey, he further said.

Following up on the needs and requirements of all hospitals

For his part, Dr. Yousuf Al-Serkal affirmed that the ministry is closely following up on the needs of all hospitals and medical areas and working tirelessly to study and provide the necessary requirements in order to ensure the delivery of quality healthcare services.

He added: “MoHAP is moving steadily towards making a positive change in the provision of health care services and is doing its best to improve the therapeutic journey of patients. This herald a new phase of integrating the healthcare system into digital services and Artificial Intelligence (AI), in addition to counting on a proactive therapeutic healthcare model in terms of the diagnosis and treatment of some diseases.
