Except for the places of worship, educational institutions, and health and sports
               facilities, the competent authority may designate a certain place for smoking in
               such places according to the controls specified by the executive regulations of
               this law.

               Smoking is banned in public places specified by the executive regulations of this
               law in coordination with the competent authority.

               It is banned to allocate automatic devices and equipment for the sale or use of
               tobacco or its products in the UAE.

                                                     A Ar rt ti ic cl le e   ( (1 10 0) )

               In the event that tobacco or one of its products not complying with the technical
               standards  and  conditions  approved  in  the  UAE  is  entered,  the  competent
               authority shall destroy the seized materials in a manner that does not harm the
               environment or instruct the person entering the same to exile them out of the
               UAE at its own cost and expense.

               It is banned to license cafes or the like that offer any of the types of tobacco or
               its products inside or near residential buildings or residential neighborhoods for
               the distance specified by the executive regulations of this law. The regulation
               shall  identify,  after  coordination  with  the  competent  authority,  the  places  in
               which it is permissible to license the provision of tobacco or its products and
               their working hours. The cafes or the like currently existing shall amend their
               status  within  two  years  from  the  effective  date  of  this  law  by  changing  the
               activity or shifting to another location.

               A  committee  called  the  National  Committee  for  Tobacco  Control  shall  be
               formed  under  a  resolution  by  the  Council  of  Ministers.  This  resolution  shall
               identify the functions of the committee, its work system and the remuneration of
               its members.
