Ministry of Health concludes successful participation in Arab Health 2022

The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has concluded its strong and successful participation in Arab Health 2022, after attracting an impressive turnout of visitors including experts, specialists, and exhibitors from several countries and regional and international companies.

The ministry has chosen the theme 'Future of Pioneering Health' in the event, which ran from January 24th to 27th, with so many visitors lauding the ministry’s investment projects in digital technology and its keenness to excel while forging ahead towards a better healthy future.

The ministry’s stand introduced all visitors to the many innovative health projects, programs and systems showcased to foresee the future of health care based on the next-generation technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and artificial intelligence and in line with the Principles of the 50th.

Unprecedented experience

During its participation, the ministry provided an unprecedented experience to visit the future, with the launch of the Metaverse customer happiness service centre, the first of its kind in the world, ushering in a new era of digital reality and human-computer interaction in government health care services, by enhancing the integration of the real, virtual and digital world.

Epidemiological surveillance platform

The ministry has also launched an innovative digital platform to confront the pandemic globally, in coordination with international organizations, and showcased the latest ECG interpretation and analysis smart app, with 95% accurate and instant results and unveiled the E-public health system "SPHERE", an e-platform for epidemiological surveillance and management that can be used or linked at the state level.

The platform aims to strengthen early epidemiological surveillance systems, follow-up on and manage health risks that affect public health and enhance linkage with the government and private health sectors and relevant authorities, by providing a unified national database that contributes to disease prevention and health promotion.

Paperless drug packs

The ministry has also revealed an AR-powered paperless drug packs project, adding QR Code to the medicine package to enable patients to interactively read the drug information via AR technology and reviewed the latest developments concerning " Riayati' platform, a national unified medical record in partnership with the health authorities in the country.

The new projects were launched in line with the ministry’s efforts to develop an integrated health system based on the advanced infrastructure, world-class competencies, innovation and digital transformation.

Cloud Computing

Also during its participation, the ministry has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Amazon Web Services (AWS), a subsidiary of Amazon, to enhance bilateral cooperation, organise workshops on creating a cloud-based electronic medical record system and a healthcare portal focused on serving the community, in accordance with international best practices to drive technological innovation that has cemented the country's position as a thriving global hub and a leading example of digital governments.
