In line with its strategy to establish a culture of innovation where customers are encouraged to participate in the development of services and programs for the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention to ensure their happiness, the Dubai Medical District has recently launched 'Our Customer Innovates with Us' competition. The Ministry's initiative aims at encouraging customers to present innovative proposals in administrative and healthcare services which will be monitored and reviewed according to a set of performance indicators. These recommendations will gradually be implemented to align with the requirements and needs of the stakeholders in the Ministry to make customers happy.

 

H.E. Dr. Nasser Khalifa Al Budoor, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health and Prevention, and Director of Dubai Medical District, stated that the aim of the competition is to involve the public in the development of better services rendered by the Ministry. He said that it will help in creating a conducive environment in implementing innovative projects in line with the Ministry's operational plans to provide of all administrative services in accordance with the best international standards of quality, efficiency and transparency. The Assistant Undersecretary further said that it will bring in a new phase of excellence within the Ministry and contribute in the rise if Suggestion Index of the Dubai Medical District from 5 per cent to 8 per cent.

 

Dr. Abdulaziz Al Zarooni Deputy, Director of the Dubai Medical District, emphasized on the positive impact of the competition. He said: "We have adopted a set of regulations and standards in assessing the winners of the competition which will also lead to the provision of high quality services. The number of suggestions and recommendations made by customers have reached to around 150, driving up the Dubai Medical District's Suggestions Index in the last quarter of 2016. The initiative will continue until the first quarter of 2017 while a special committee is reviewing all suggestions some of which will be implemented during the next year."

 

The second initiative, 'Customer Happiness Measuring index,' is being implemented by I P A D across select health centers and is now in its initial stages. The program is aimed at measuring how happy customers are from services and to develop and provide more appropriate solutions. The third initiative, 'Our Guest, You're Welcome,' has been applied initially in the Hor Al Anz Health Center's pre-marriage examination department through friendly sessions with customers to take their opinions and suggestions. The Ministry is currently studying the application of this initiative and its impact until it is implemented across UAE centers in 2017.
