Article (27)
1. Whosoever violates the provisions of Articles (5), (6), (7), (8) and (9) hereof shall be penalized
by imprisonment for a period of six (6) months at lease and/or a fine not exceeding one million
Emirati Dirham (AED 1,000,000).
2. The licensed medical facility shall be penalized by a fine of not less than one million Emirati
Dirham (AED 1,000,000) and not exceeding twenty million Emirati Dirham (AED 20,000,000)
in case the person in charge thereof violates the provisions of Articles (5), (6) and (7) hereof.
Article (28)
In addition to the original penalties provided herein, the court may order the following:
1. Deprivation of practicing the profession for a period not exceeding three years.
2. Seizure of funds, medical equipment and tools used in the crime.
3. Closing the health facility where the crime is committed or part thereof for a period not
less than two months and not more than a year. The closure shall be permanent in the case
of recurrence.
Article (29)
The commitment of any crime prescribed in this Decree Law by an organized criminal gang shall
be deemed as an exacerbating circumstance
Article (30)
Any of the offenders who inform the judicial or administrative authorities of his/ her acquired
knowledge before committing the crime shall be granted pardon for the crimes prescribed in
Articles (20), (21), (22) and (23) hereof.
The court may grant pardon if the crime is reported to the authorities after committing the crime
and before starting the investigation. The court may also commute the penalties if the offender
facilitates to the Competent Authorities arresting the accomplices during investigation or trial.
Article (31)
The penalties contemplated in this Decree Law shall not prejudice the right of the competent health
authorities to take the disciplinary decisions and procedures vis-à-vis the violators.
