Article (7)
Transplantation of Organs and Tissues Containing Chromosomes (DNA)
Without prejudice to any other law's provisions, transplantation of a human organ or part thereof
or tissues containing chromosomes (DNA) is prohibited.
Article (8)
Medical Examinations
1. Before performing the operation of transferring or transplanting a human organ or part thereof
or tissue, the physicians shall conduct the required medical and psychological examinations in
order to ensure the following:
a. The donor is totally healthy in accordance with the medically recognized principles.
b. The removal is not threatening the life of donor or cause damage thereto, beyond the
medically recognized damage.
c. The psychological state of the donor allows performing the removal operation.
d. The transplant of human organ or part thereof or tissue is the best way to treat the recipient.
e. The human organ or part thereof or tissue to be removed shall be free of any infectious
diseases threatening the life of the recipient as per the medically recognized principles.
f. The human organ or part thereof or tissue shall be appropriate to the recipient body.
2. All findings of examinations referred to in Clause (1) of this Article shall be registered in a
medical report signed by the physicians in charge of the transfer and transplant operation.
Article (9)
Complications of Removal Operation
The donor shall be informed of any potential or confirmed complications arising from removing
the human organ or part thereof or tissue, and any potential consequences to his personal, family
and occupational life,
Article (10)
Establishment of National Center
The Cabinet may establish a national center to regulate the transplant and transfer of human organs
and tissues and preserve the same. In addition, the Cabinet shall determine its duties, competencies,
body to which it affiliates, and its operating system and procedures.
