H.E. Ahli: Integrated services with simple and fast procedures

The UAE is not waiting for the future, it's creating it with the vision of its wise leadership, placing people at the heart of government work. In line with this approach, the second phase of the Zero Government Bureaucracy program, comes as a driving force behind institutional transformation, embodying the government's vision of delivering simple, fast and efficient services.

The ministry's end goal was not limited to reducing the number of procedures but to designing a new government framework that touches every individual in society and establishes a relationship between people and government based on trust and ease. 

Accordingly, the Ministry developed a roadmap for implementing Phase II of the Zero Bureaucracy Programme, which seeks to eliminate unnecessary complexities and procedures; unify systems and platforms, simplify requirements; abolish duplication of services across entities; and transition from complex digital services to fully integrated digital experiences.

As part of the first package of Phase II, we re-engineered several licensing and evaluation services. The results were impressive: reducing the number of procedures by more than 50 per cent; minimising documentation requirements by up to 100 per cent in some services; and accelerating service delivery times from weeks to minutes. We also prioritised achieving digital integration across systems and activating artificial intelligence tools to improve the customer experience.

The change was the result of collaborative work between the Ministry's teams, strategic partners and, most importantly, customers and society. 

We engaged with the community, tested the services from the customer's perspective, and the outcome was simpler, faster and more effective services. 

We will continue to work on the upcoming packages of the programme to provide an integrated experience that strengthens the UAE's global competitiveness and aligns with the ambitions of 'We the UAE 2031'.
