Ministry of Health and Prevention launches electronic game to promote nursing profession
In recognition of the critical role and vital contributions of nurses in the country, the Ministry of Health and Prevention has launched an electronic game in a bid to promote and raise awareness of the importance of the nursing profession
The initiative is using cartoon characters Rahma and Sanad to highlight the importance of the field and invite Emiratis to consider joining the country’s nursing workforce in line with UAE Vision 2021. Rahma and Sanad will be the official characters present in all official and national events in adherence to the Ministry's strategy to provide a comprehensive and integrated health care delivered in an innovative and sustainable way and foster a culture of innovation in the work environment
The names Rahmah and Sanad are inspired by the speech of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who said, ‘«National nursing staff is the real supportive of the state at the time of its crises and its needs»
The game aims to reach the largest number of people to disseminate knowledge. As one of the most successful and significant educational tools to attract the attention of target age groups, the e-game consists of two models; the first one targets children aged 3 to 8, while the second one is designed for children aged 8 years old and above
Apart from raising awareness about the nursing profession, the game also seeks to educate the public about dealing with minor medical cases. The game is now available on Android and iOS devices to make it accessible across all segments of the community
