Dr. Sumaya Al Blooshi, Head of the National Committee for Nursing and Midwifery, emphasised that the Arab Nurses and Midwives Day, celebrated annually on November 3, is an important occasion to recognise the efforts and achievements of nurses and midwives in the healthcare sector in the UAE and across the Arab world.

The UAE, represented by the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP), took part in the G20 Health Ministers Meeting and G20 Joint Finance and Health Ministers meeting hosted by Brazil from Oct. 29-31 to discuss global health challenges, identify strategic priorities, and develop long-term plans to build resilient health systems, contributing to the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.

H.E. Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention, and Minister of State for Federal National Council (FNC) Affairs, emphasized that the UAE Flag Day is a profound national occasion that embodies the values of belonging, loyalty, and pride in the nation and its wise leadership.

H.E. Dr. Mohammed Salim Al Olama, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health and Prevention, emphasised that Flag Day is more than just a day; it's a dear national occasion to renew our resolve, commitment, and loyalty to our wise leadership and to keeping our nation’s flag flying high with pride. 

The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has commemorated Flag Day at its offices throughout the UAE, including its headquarters in Dubai, following the directive of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to simultaneously raise the UAE flag across various institutions and ministries.

The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has launched the National Supplementary Measles Immunization Campaign 2024, themed “Protect Yourself, Protect Your Community.” In partnership with the Emirates Health Services, Abu Dhabi Public Health Center, and Dubai Health Authority, the campaign aims to strengthen immunity and protect public health by providing an additional booster dose of the Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) Vaccination for children in the target age group.
