The Ministry of Health and Prevention, MoHAP, announced on Thursday that it conducted over 54,000 additional COVID-19 tests over the past 24 hours, using state-of-the-art medical testing equipment.

Abdul Rahman bin Mohammed Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention announced that the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi started the third phase of clinical trials on a vaccine to treat Covid-19. Trials will be conducted on 15,000 volunteers, including men and women from different nationalities, noting that the number of volunteers reached about 10,000 people already.

As part of its efforts to provide the diagnostic and therapeutic services and to implement quality and excellence standards, as well as achieve the leadership in the health field, the Ministry of Health and Prevention said that the Cardiology Department at Al Qassimi Women’s & Children’s Hospital has successfully performed open-heart surgery for a two-month-old baby weighing 3.5 kg born with congenital heart defects causing severe heart and respiratory failure and the inability to feed naturally.
