Healthcare Issues Ministry of Health and Prevention successfully takes part in WHO-sponsored simulation exercise for epidemic prevention
The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP), through the Centre for Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Operations, successfully took part in a training simulation exercise designed to help measure global preparedness in the event of the occurrence of an epidemic. The exercise is coordinated by the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Global Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) and the EOC Network, a global network of health emergency operations centers.

H.E. Dr. Amin Hussain Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health Policy and Licensing Sector of the Ministry of Health and Prevention and chairman of the Pharmaceutical Board of trustees, chaired the fourth meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Pharmaceutical Sector. The attendees were composed of local health authorities, executives from local and international pharmaceutical companies, local drug distributors, representatives of private pharmacies and department directors and experts from the Ministry.

Healthcare Issues Ministry of Health and Prevention signs MoU with Tabuk Pharmaceuticals to ensure delivery of medical supplies during emergencies
The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) announced the signing of a strategic agreement with Tabuk Pharmaceuticals for the supply and distribution of medical and pharmaceutical stocks during emergency situations. The agreement falls in line with the efforts to strengthen the UAE’s health security, according to the Cabinet Decision No. 39 of 2015. The supply and distribution of drugs in this manner is a crucial precautionary measure taken by most countries, including those who manufacture drugs.

To meet the requirements of the National Cardiovascular Disease Index, the Ministry of Health and Prevention organized a seminar on women's heart health titled ‘Oxygen Plus for your Heart.’ Dr. Muna Al-Kuwari, Director of the Specialized Care Department, and Vice Chair of the Executive committee on Cardiovascular Index attended the seminar along with representatives from Dubai Media Incorporated, the Ministry of Education, the UAE University, and the National Ambulance.

Healthcare Issues Ministry of Health and Prevention announces Al Qassimi Hospital in Sharjah awarded international accreditation by JCI
The Ministry of Health and Prevention has announced that the Al Qassimi Hospital in Sharjah was recently awarded international accreditation by the Joint Commission International (JCI) after passing the rigorous assessments used to classify global institutions providing high-quality patient care. The JCI team conducted field visits to the hospital to evaluate its implementation of processes and procedures based on the internationally recognized standards for medical institutions. The award comes at a time where the UAE continues to maintain its number 1 ranking globally in terms of the highest number of accredited health institutions.

Healthcare Issues Ministry of Health and Prevention meets with Chinese delegates to discuss AI and Chronic Diseases
The Ministry of Health and Prevention recently met with a Chinese delegation to discuss mutually beneficial cooperation in the use of technological innovations such as artificial intelligence (AI) in the health care sector. The Ministry was represented by H.E. Dr. Hussein Abdul Rahman Rand, Assistant Undersecretary for Centers and Health Clinics, and Dr. Issa Al Mansouri, Director of the Undersecretary Office and Director of the International Health Relations, while the Chinese delegates were headed by Liu Xia, Vice Mayor of Wuxi City. Samer Al-Hallaq, Regional Director of AstraZeneca Middle East, was also present in the gathering.
