Healthcare Issues Ministry of Health and Prevention organizes workshop for emergency medical teams
The Ministry of Health and Prevention held a workshop for the emergency medical teams (EMTs) at the Ministry’s Training and Development Center in Sharjah. Conducted in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) regional office, the workshop was attended by H.E. Dr. Salem Al Darmaki, Advisor to the UAE Minister of Health and Prevention; Dr. Abdul Karim Abdullah Al Zarouni, Director of the Ministry’s Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Operations Center; and Nelson Olim from World Health Organization.

Healthcare Issues UAE Minister of Health and Prevention signs partnership agreement with AstraZeneca
H.E. Abdul Rahman bin Mohammed Al Owais, UAE Minister of Health and Prevention, signed a partnership agreement with Leif Johansson, Chairman of leading global pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca, as part of its strategy to enhance the outcomes of national indicators in the field of respiratory diseases and cancer, to achieve the objectives of the National Agenda 2021. The agreement was signed in the presence of H.E. Dr. Muhammad Salim Al Olama, Undersecretary of the Ministry, assistant undersecretaries, and Samer Al Hallaq, Area Vice President at AstraZeneca.

The Ministry of Health and Prevention has launched its month-long Breast Cancer Awareness and Prevention Program to raise community awareness on early detection and diagnosis, prevention and treatment methods, and risk factors. Healthcare Issues MOHAP signs two MoUs with Astrazeneca and Bayer to provide free medicines to patients with critical illnesses
In the context of the Year of Zayed 2018, Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) signed two Memorandums of Understanding with 2 pharmaceutical companies AstraZeneca and Bayer, to provide free medicines for one year for patients with breast, ovarian and lung cancer, treated with AstraZeneca medicines, and patients with macular degeneration, impaired vision, liver cell carcinoma, differential thyroid cancer, and advanced kidney cancer, treated with Bayer medicines.

Healthcare Issues Ministry of Health and Prevention launches a new research agenda to study ADHD
The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) successfully launched the new research agenda for 2018-2019, which is aimed towards studying attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The new agenda, which follows the government's directives to create key research and establish an innovative system for mental health, falls in line with the national policy activities aimed at promoting mental health in the UAE. During the launch, a summary of the research was presented to medical specialists and professionals attending the event. The event was held in the presence of H.E. Dr. Youssef Mohammed Al Serkal, Assistant Undersecretary for the Hospitals Sector, MOHAP; Dr. Mona Al Kuwari, Director of Specialized Care Department, MOHAP and Dr. Adel Kerani, Director of Al Amal Hospital, along with the members of the research teams.
