His Excellency (H.E.) Dr. Mohammad Salim Al Olama, Undersecretary, Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP), recently met with H.E. Masud Husain, Canadian Ambassador to the UAE, to discuss the potential of strengthening and consolidating cooperative ties in the field of health for the two countries, especially in the exchange and transfer of knowledge and experiences, promotion and adoption of best medical practices and continuing medical education. Also present during the meeting was Dr. Issa Ahmad Al Mansouri, Director of the Undersecretary's Office and Director of International Health Relations for the Ministry.

The Ministry of Health and Prevention recently launched the ‘Art for Health’ competition to raise awareness on lifestyle-related medical conditions and tap into young people’s creativity and innovativeness, to help address the growing health issues in the country. The competition seeks to help realize the objective of UAE Vision 2021 aimed at building a world-class health sector with robust preventive measures to reduce the cases of lifestyle-related diseases in the nation such as obesity, heart ailment, and diabetes.
