Healthcare Issues Ministry of Health and Prevention launches ‘Maharati’ system to boost healthcare electronic training in UAE
The Ministry of Health and Prevention has officially launched the ‘Maharati’ system, a healthcare learning and management system, at the Training and Development Center in Sharjah as part of its continuous efforts to improve the health system and nurture a culture of innovation in the work environment through globally accepted training. Apart from strengthening the UAE’s health industry, ‘Maharati’ also seeks to build a smart e-learning system and sustain effective local and global partnerships to keep up with future changes. Present during the launch were H.E. Awadh Seghayer Al Ketbi, Assistant Undersecretary of Support Service; H.E. Dr. Yousif Al Serkal, Assistant Undersecretary for Hospitals Sector; H.E Dr. Amin Hussain Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary of Public Health Policy & Licensing Sector; H.E. Dr. Hussein Abdel-Rahman Rand, Assistant Undersecretary for Health Centers and Clinics; Saqr Ghanim AlHemeiri, Director of the Training & Development Center; Adnan Al Riyami, Director of Human Resources Management, and members of the project team.

Healthcare Issues Ministry of Health and Prevention’s Youth Council tackles future challenges and plans
The Youth Council of the Ministry of Health and Prevention at Al Qassimi Women’s & Children’s Hospital in Sharjah held its first induction meeting attended by the Ministry’s staff from Sharjah, Dubai and Ajman’s medical districts. The meeting served as a venue for the young members to discuss the Council’s goals, tasks, and future plans to strengthen the role of the youth in the Ministry’s efforts to build an effective and sustainable health system for a happy society. It was part of a series of upcoming Ministry-led meetings to be held in various regions.

The Ministry of Health and Prevention, represented by the Department of Health Education and Promotion, launched the second stage of the ‘Healthy and Positive Environment Initiative 2018’ at the Ministry of Infrastructure Development in Dubai as part of its bid to promote happiness and positivity in local society. The initiative seeks to create a supportive health environment to help employees adopt healthy habits and lifestyles as well as increase their health awareness.

Healthcare Issues Ministry of Health and Prevention launches Critical Congenital Heart Disease Screening Program (CCHD) for Newborns
Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) has launched the Critical Congenital Heart Disease (CCHD) screening program for all newborns. As part of the program launch, the MOHAP is equipping 9 hospitals across 5 emirates, Newborns delivered at these hospitals will now be screened for critical congenital heart disease (CCHD) using Eve – the first large-scale worldwide installation of Eve on Rad-97 Pulse CO-Oximeters from MASIMO.

The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP), represented by the Sharjah Blood Transfusion and Research Center, commemorated “World Blood Donor Day” under the theme “Be there for someone else. Give blood. Share life.” The celebration honored a number of regular blood donors and supporters of blood transfusion services, in the presence of H.E. Dr. Hussein Abdel-Rahman Rand, Assistant Undersecretary for Health Clinics and Centers, Mrs. Safiya Al Shamsi, Director of Laboratories and Blood Bank, Dr. Fatma Sajwani, Medical Director of Blood Transfusion and Research Center-Sharjah and Mrs. Amal Abdulla, Administrative director.

Healthcare Issues Ministry of Health and Prevention Undersecretary inspects readiness of Al Amal Hospital for Mental Health and Dibba Al Hosn Health Centre
His Excellency (H.E.) Dr. Mohammad Salim Al Olama, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP), recently visited the Al Amal Hospital for Mental Health in Dubai and the Dibba Al Hosn Health Centre. Accompanied by H.E. Yousif Mohammed Al Serkal, Assistant Undersecretary for the Hospital Sector, the visit is part of the Ministry's regular inspection of local health facilities to help determine the current level of health services provided to UAE residents and nationals while also conducting an on-the-spot review of the performance of medical staff--keeping them up-to-date of the latest standards being adopted by the Ministry in accordance with best international practices.
