Healthcare Issues Ministry of Health and Prevention signs strategic Memorandum of Understanding with European Resuscitation Council
The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) recently signed a strategic new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and cooperation with the European Resuscitation Council at the Ministry’s Training and Development Center in Sharjah. The agreement is aimed towards developing opportunities for further cooperation between the two parties and benefit from their expertise to promote the health and wellness of the UAE community through support and provision of health education based on the highest international standards.

Healthcare Issues Ministry of Health and Prevention participates in this year’s National Career Exhibition at Expo Center Sharjah
The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) is participating at the 20th edition of the National Career Exhibition, which is taking place from February 7 to February 9, 2018, at the Expo Center Sharjah. The event, an integral part of the UAE government’s initiatives to successfully integrate national manpower into the country’s workforce, is held under the patronage of His Highness (H.H.) Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Member of the UAE Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah. The National Career Exhibition is aimed towards attracting students, graduates, trainees and job seekers to further promote the integration of young graduates into the human resources of government institutions and the private sector.

The Ministry of Health and Prevention and Julphar Gulf Pharmaceutical Industries Manufacturers recently signed an agreement to reinforce the country’s medicine supplies allotted for emergencies, crises, and disasters in pursuant to Article 4 of the Cabinet Decision No. (39) of 2015.

Healthcare Issues Joint Commission International honors Ministry of Health and Prevention
H.E. Abdul Rahman bin Mohammed Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention, received a plaque from the Joint Commission International (JCI) following the accreditation of 213 UAE-based health centers. The accreditation marked another milestone in the UAE’s efforts to become a global leader in line with the UAE National Agenda leading to UAE Vision 2021. The plaque was bestowed on the Minister in recognition of his leadership as the Ministry continues to take strategic steps to apply the highest international standards.

Healthcare Issues Minister of Health and Prevention issues ministerial decree for the registration of innovative medicines and rare drugs
The Minister of Health & Prevention H.E. Abdul Rahman bin Mohammed Al Owais has issued the Ministerial Decree No. (28) of 2018 which details the mechanism for registering breakthrough and rare medicines after having obtained final approval from one of the accredited international regulatory authorities, pricing terms and obligations of the marketing authorization holder and importer of the medicines. The decree is in line with the Ministry's strategy to provide a legislative framework, regulatory and supervisory services for the health sector by creating health legislation in line with UAE Vision 2021.

Healthcare Issues Ministry of Health & Prevention secures international accreditation for a network of 16 health centers in Ras Al Khaimah
The United Arab Emirates (UAE), with its more than 213 health facilities, has been ranked number one in the number of internationally accredited facilities by the Joint Commission International (JCI), once again highlighting its series of achievements and indices geared towards accomplishing the aspirations of the UAE Vision 2021 in order to strengthen its position on the global competitiveness map and take the lead in many international reports and indicators.
