
H.E. Dr. Mohammad Salim Al Olama, (MoHAP), stressed that the remarkable achievements of Emirati women were made possible thanks to the unlimited support of the wise leadership, which has made women’s empowerment a key pillar of the UAE’s development journey.
In a statement on Emirati Women’s Day, Al Olama said: “The UAE has built a supportive environment that empowers women, unlocking their capabilities and enabling their active presence across all sectors. Women have become indispensable partners in the nation’s progress and in building a prosperous society, capable of shaping the future and advancing the goals of the UAE Centennial 2071.”
Community cohesion
His Excellency said: “This year, the UAE celebrates the occasion under the theme ‘Hand in Hand, We Celebrate 50 Years,’ coinciding with the Year of Community. It’s an opportunity to again reaffirm that empowering women is a fundamental pillar of a national development strategy, one that strengthens social cohesion and solidarity across all fields of progress and supports the nation’s aspiration to establish a development framework that prioritizes equality and equal opportunity.”
Efforts of The Mother of the Nation
Al Olama paid tribute to the significant contributions of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the Mother of the Nation, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF).
He emphasised that her vision has paved the way for landmark initiatives that placed Emirati women at the heart of national development, empowering them socially, economically, and politically, and enabling them to assume leadership roles and actively contribute to enhancing quality of life.
Impact on healthcare
Al Olama commended the central role that Emirati women continue play in the health sector, highlighting their proven ability to lead medical teams and manage national programmes with efficiency and dedication. He stressed that their professionalism and sense of responsibility reinforce the need to provide them with a supportive and enabling work environment, which strengthens the sustainability of the healthcare system and contributes to realising the Sustainable Development Goals.
