Ministry of Health and Prevention stimulates its staff to excel and adopt innovation approach

The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) today (Wednesday, May 1) honored an elite group of employees in appreciation and recognition of their efforts to reflect the bright image of the ministry and highlight its innovative initiatives and techniques at the Arab Health Exhibition & Congress 2019.

Held at the ministry's headquarters, Dubai, the honoring ceremony was attended by  Dr. Yousif Mohammed Al Serkal, Assistant Under-Secretary for the Hospital Sector and chairman of the Arab Health Congress committee and H.E. Awad Saghir Al Ketbi, Assistant Undersecretary for Support Services and staff, as well as a number of directors and employees.

The ministry stressed that recognizing and honoring overachievers and distinguished employees  is one of the hallmarks that makes the UAE special as it reflects the dynamism of the society, the spirt of taking initiatives as well as teamwork. The culture of appreciation and recognition has always been adopted by the UAE's wise leadership to boost the comprehensive and sustainable development, the ministry added.

Recognition goes for true achievers

"Today, we have honored distinguished employees. It made us feel so proud to see all supervisory and executive teams working hand in hand at the Arab Health Congress . The ministry's pavilion was a preferred stop for those looking for innovation and future of healthcare. This is mainly attributed to the organizing teams' efforts, which significantly contributed to the success of the event", Al Serkal said.

He congratulated the honored employees for their efforts and excellent performance, adding the honoring ceremony was held to thank whoever left his imprint on developing the work progress and boosting innovation and creativity.  "It is fair to say a well-deserved recognition and appreciation goes only for creative and innovative employees" Al Serkal noted.

"We are organising this event today inspired by the words of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, when he said: " Recognition and appreciation is not an ultimate goal but a means of stimulating and galvanizing people. Being excellent is a race that doesn't end by being honored but rather is a full life cycle in which man offers his best" He underlined.

Al Serkal shed light on the ministry's achievements made through its participations at the Arab Health Congress, which aimed to strengthen the UAE's global standing and develop sustainable solutions to the future of healthcare, based on the artificial intelligence techniques and the fourth industrial revolution.

At the congress, the ministry showcased leading medical, diagnostic and preventive services. The ministry also displayed its artificial intelligence applications used to screen breast cancer, as well as how virtual reality technology can be used to enhance the attractiveness of the nursing profession, the Assistant Under-Secretary highlighted.

The ministry has also showcased smart applications that promote mental health services, and how the Blockchain technology can be used in organ transplantation, as well as how the virtual reality technology can be harnessed to motivate young people to practice medicine. This is all in line with the UAE Centennial 2071, Al Serkal noted.

Institutional environment: Incubator for talented professional

For his part, Al Ketbi commended all the honorees for their role in reflecting bright image of the ministry. He stressed  MOHAP's keenness to build and strengthen the innovative and creative environment that attracts talented professionals, promote competitiveness among employees and support the functional empowerment policy as well as the sense of loyalty and belonging.

"When we celebrate creative people, we honor  noble values in bid to further root them in the society. A vibrant society does always celebrate competencies."

Al Ketbi expressed his hope with organising future events that celebrate the achievements of MOHP outstanding employees. The ministry is always  encouraging its employees to excel. This is part of its efforts to build a global health system in line with the National Agenda 2021 to further consolidate the UAE's position among the world's top countries. He concluded by wishing the ministry further prosperity and excellence.
