
The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Informa-UBM EMEA, one of the world’s largest conference and training organizers.
Under this MoU, MoHAP will be the sponsor and supportive partner of the “CPhI Exhibition & Conference” Middle East and Africa 2019. CPhI is the world’s largest pharma event at the local and international levels.
This year’s edition will take place at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre from 16 - 18 September 2019.
The MoU was signed at MoHAP headquarters by HE Dr. Amin Hussein Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health and Prevention’s Public Health Policy and Licenses, Dr. Kara Turner, Director-General of Informa-UBM EMEA.
The signing ceremony was also attended by Dr. Ruqaya Al Bastaki, Director of MoHAP’s Drug Department, Dr. Rasha Salama, Public Health Advisor, Dr. Rita Al Chalouhi, Pharmaceutical Advisor and a number of the company employees.
This agreement is valid during this year’s edition of CPhI Exhibition & Conference Middle East and Africa 2019, which is witnessing the participation of 294 exhibitors and hosting over 3000 pharmaceutical suppliers and buyers.
While MoHAP will participate in the presentations and panel discussions, which will be held to introduce effective pharmaceutical ingredients, additives, and the most accurate chemicals used by manufacturers.
In addition to reviewing the pharmaceutical contract services in clinical trials, research and manufacturing contracts, vital services, information technology services, analytical services, and packaging contracts.
Strengthening the Pharmaceutical Sector
Dr. Ruqaya Al Bastaki, Director of MoHAP’s Drug Department, said: “We are pleased to sign this MoU with Informa-UBM EMEA. This agreement is constituting an impetus to realize our mutual ambitions to strengthen the UAE’s pharmaceutical industry by sponsoring and supporting one of the most important pharmaceutical exhibitions.
“This exhibition is forming an ideal platform for exploring the latest trends and challenges and it also provides high-level content and comprehensive insights into the development of future strategies in the pharmaceutical products sector,” Al Bastaki added.
She emphasized MoHAP’s keenness to enhance relations with the local and international companies and institutions and to actively participate in specialized conferences and exhibitions aimed at developing the UAE’s pharmaceutical sector, in view of the existence of many local and international companies in the country.
While Dr. Kara Turner said: “CPhI Middle East & Africa is the largest regional pharmaceutical gathering, with a large number of suppliers and buyers in the pharmaceutical field, featuring contracting services for machinery, equipment, and technology, and provides an online directory of pharmaceutical distributors and suppliers.”
