Please note that training does not exempt candidates from the clinical experience requirement, and training completed within the UAE is not counted as part of the required experience for graduates outside the UAE.

Applicants should refer to page 96 of the Professional Qualification Requirements (PQR) to review the eligibility conditions and requirements. After confirming eligibility, applicants must submit an online application through the Evaluation System under the “Healthcare Professionals” category, attaching all required documents. The applicable fees should then be paid before submission. The application will be reviewed by the evaluation officer, and once approved, it will proceed to the DataFlow verification and examination stages.

 

Can pharmacists apply for a Hijama (Cupping Therapy) evaluation?

Yes. Licensed healthcare professionals in the UAE may apply for a Hijama (Cupping Therapy) evaluation if they meet the following basic requirements: A bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field, a valid professional license in the UAE, completion of an approved Hijama training course. Is an exam mandatory for specialist physicians applying for MOHAP evaluation?

The requirement for an exam is determined by the evaluation officer after reviewing the application. The exam is mandatory to assess competency in the relevant specialty. Passing the exam qualifies the applicant for an evaluation certificate, allowing progression toward obtaining a job offer and applying for a professional license. Can applicants appeal the result of the Prometric exam?

Prometric exam results are processed automatically through the system without human intervention. Results are displayed as either “Pass” or “Fail” based on a minimum passing score of 60%.  Due to Prometric’s international policies and guidelines, individual questions or answers cannot be disclosed. Prometric exams are standardized and globally accredited to ensure the integrity and consistency of the evaluation process.

What is the process for transferring a valid professional license from Dubai or Abu Dhabi to MOHAP?

Applicants must enter their valid license number issued by the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi or the Dubai Health Authority through the MOHAP portal to create a record in the Ministry’s system. Once the registration number is generated, it should be shared with the employer, as the healthcare facility will submit the licensing request through its account in the Ministry’s licensing system.

 Note: This process does not require submitting an application through MOHAP’s Evaluation System.

Where can applicants find study references for MOHAP exams?

MOHAP does not provide specific study references for its exams. The exams are designed to assess knowledge and professional competency within the relevant field of practice. Can graduates from outside the UAE complete training within the country to meet evaluation requirements?

Training within the UAE is available only to graduates of UAE-based universities. Graduates from institutions outside the UAE must meet the evaluation requirements by obtaining clinical experience and a valid professional license issued outside the UAE in the same field of specialty.

Is a training certificate obtained outside the UAE accepted as a certificate of experience?

No. Training completed outside the UAE is not considered equivalent to clinical experience.  To meet the requirement, applicants must provide verified clinical experience supported by a valid professional license and a Certificate of Good Standing issued by a recognized health authority or medical association in the country of practice. The certificate must be issued within the past six months.

Steps to use the verification system:

1. Enter the MOHAP registration number (nursing certificate or registered nurse number) and click “Search”.
   
   
2. When the name appears, click “Request/New Request,” then click “Submit.”
   
   
3. The system will redirect to the payment page. Complete the payment process.
   
   
4. Once payment is confirmed, a verification certificate will be issued electronically for submission to the relevant authority or country.

Can applicants be exempted from submitting a Certificate of Good Standing or an experience certificate due to political issues in their home country?

In accordance with applicable laws and regulations, no exemptions can be granted from any of the essential requirements for the evaluation process. Applicants facing such circumstances are advised to seek alternative solutions or provide supporting documentation that can be authenticated by the relevant official authorities.

What are the required documents to obtain a cosmetic privilege (botox and filler)?

The cosmetic privilege (botox and filler) is available only to general practitioners and requires submission of the following documents:

• Proof of five years of clinical experience as a general practitioner.
• A valid UAE medical license demonstrating current professional status.
• A certificate of completion of an accredited cosmetic training course, issued within the last two years from the date of application.
• Documentation of 20 cosmetic cases completed during the training course.

Can applicants request a fourth attempt after failing the MOHAP exam three times?

No. The maximum number of attempts permitted for MOHAP exams is three. A fourth attempt is not allowed.

However, applicants may choose to apply for the exam through another health authority, such as the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) or the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DOH).

What should applicants do if the option for direct transfer of a valid privilege license from Dubai or Abu Dhabi does not appear in the system?

Applicants can use the “Instant Transfer” service available through the MOHAP portal to transfer a valid privilege license from another health authority to the Ministry.  An online application must be submitted through the Evaluation System under the Privilege category, with all required documents and a copy of the valid privilege license attached. Once submitted, the application will be reviewed and verified by the evaluation officer. After approval, an evaluation certificate for the requested internship or privilege will be issued.
