Ministry of Health and Prevention organizes mobile clinic to help quit smoking in collaboration with Dubai Courts

The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHA), in cooperation with the Dubai Courts, has organized a mobile clinic to help people quit smoking as part of the "I quit .... now it's your turn" initiative under the national anti-smoking program. The activity was launched in the presence of Dr. Wedad Al Maidoor, Director of Primary Health Care Department and Director of National Tobacco Control Program, Corporate Communications officials from Dubai courts along with a number of customers.

In a pioneering move, the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention has announced the launch of a tool for early detection of colorectal (colon) cancer according to the best international standards and protocols and the results of clinical care. The first-of-its-kind tool in the Middle East, 'Fecotest' complements the Ministry's initiative to detect the cancer at an early stage.

Ministry of Health and Prevention launches e etmenan smart app to facilitate in prevention of non-communicable diseases

​The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) held a press conference to officially announce the launch of the e etmenan smart application in cooperation with the Belgian company, Science Tribune. The app was developed to facilitate in the prevention of non-communicable diseases, and launched in the presence of Dr. Hussein Abdel-Rahman Al Rand, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry's Health & Prevention Assistant Sector - Health Centers and Clinics and Dr. Fadila Sharif, Director of the Health Education and Promotion and Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium in the UAE.

In line with its strategy to establish a culture of innovation where customers are encouraged to participate in the development of services and programs for the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention to ensure their happiness, the Dubai Medical District has recently launched 'Our Customer Innovates with Us' competition. The Ministry's initiative aims at encouraging customers to present innovative proposals in administrative and healthcare services which will be monitored and reviewed according to a set of performance indicators. These recommendations will gradually be implemented to align with the requirements and needs of the stakeholders in the Ministry to make customers happy.

UAE Ministry of Health & Prevention hosts lectures on mental disorders for bus drivers in Dubai

The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention, represented by the Hospitals Sector's Specialized Health Department, and in collaboration with the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), recently organized a series of lectures for bus drivers in Dubai to raise awareness about mental disorders. Spread over two days, the lectures were aimed at promoting early detection of mental disorders and prevention programs as well as improve mental health services for bus drivers who have the responsibility of the safety of passengers.
