In implementation of the cabinet’s retreat which was held in December 2013, the team members of the cancer screening held a meeting in the ShangriLa hotel in Dubai lately, to highlight the latest solutions for facing cancer as well as preventive procedures that are followed in this regard and find the current healthcare needs for cancer patients.

The Ministry of Health announced the isolation of a passenger arriving from Liberia through Morocco in Dubai International Airport to make the necessary tests after suffering from diarrhea. The purpose of the test was to ensure that the passenger does not suffer from Ebola symptoms.

Chaired by Dr. Amin Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Policy and licensing and chairman of the drug pricing higher committee, the members of the committee held a meeting in the ministry of health in Dubai in the attendance of representatives from the ministry of health, Abu Dhabi and Dubai health authorities, Dubai healthcare city and national universities.

Dr. Mohamed Salim Al Olama, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, visited Ibrahim Bin Obaidallah in Ras Al Khaimah and Sheikh Khelifa Gynecology and Obstetrics Hospital in Ajman accompanied by Dr. Youssif Al Serkal, Assistant Undersecretary for Hospitals Sector. The purpose of the visit was to review the scope of work in all the departments and acknowledge the services that are provided for the patients in preparation for obtaining the international accreditation.

The health education and promotion department, primary health care sector, under the umbrella of the ministry of health organized the “healthy heart campaign” in Deira City Center and in cooperation with Majid Al Futaim Charity Foundation.

The Ministry of Health launched its fifth initiative to reduce innovative and produced drugs in cooperation with the largest production drug companies. This was agreed during the meeting that was held between the Ministry of Health and the directors of international drugs companies, representatives of local factors and authorized agents in the UAE. The meeting was attended by 100 directors, authorized officials and experts in the drug sector.
