H.E. Dr. Amin Hussein Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Policy and Licensing of the Ministry of Health and Vice Chairman of the Medical Licensing Committee, recently toured the Ministry’s various departments located in Cargo Village at Dubai Airports and Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA) as well as the warehouse of Hellman Calipar Healthcare Logistics in JAFZA.

The Ministry of Health’s Health Centers and Clinics Department has organized a training workshop on occupational health services development and workplace safety protocols under the theme ‘The Constructive Partnership for Development.’ The World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean provided technical assistance to the workshop held in cooperation with The Institute of Public Health (IPH) of the UAE University, health authorities of Abu Dhabi and Dubai as well as concerned federal and local entities. Three WHO experts also took part in the event as facilitators.

The Dubai Medical District under the Ministry of Health (MOH) has recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company, also known as Du, to collaborate on the development of smart services. The MOA aims to launch and establish an innovative payment solution that will provide easier modes of payment for Du employees, Ministry personnel and the UAE public in general. Also, the partnership is aimed towards the exchange of skills and experience about smart services. The Ministry strategy is to create and launch initiatives to enhance the satisfaction of clients.

The MOH Training and Development Center in Sharjah has organized the European Trauma Course to provide medical teams across the UAE with the latest skills to effectively treat injuries resulting of accidents and major trauma. The training session will integrate the best health care procedures to develop the services being offered to individuals and the community.

The Ministry of Health launched a group of smart services during GITEX Technology Week 2015 which will be held from October 18 to 22, 2015 at the Dubai World Trade Center, UAE.

Dr. Mohamed Salim Al Olama, Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Health, recently visited the Al Amal Psychiatric Hospital currently being constructed in Al Raweyah 3 in Dubai to review the work in progress. He was accompanied by Dr. Youssif Al Serkal, Assistant Undersecretary for the Ministry of Health’s Hospitals Sector, and a group of Senior Officials, Heads of Teams and the Director of the Project on his tour.
