Healthcare Issues Ministry of Health announces December schedule for Visiting Doctors program
The Ministry of Health has announced the details of its Visiting Doctors Program in November of 2015. For this year, three key hospitals from Ajman, Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah will host international specialists in orthopedic surgery, weight loss surgery, urology, and pediatric orthopedic surgery.

Healthcare Issues Workshop on standardized protocol to ensure excellence of medical training programs
The Ministry of Health (MoH) Training and Development Center in Sharjah recently organized an interactive workshop on the development of a standardized guide for clinical training programs for physicians assigned to medical areas under the Ministry’s administration. The workshop was held from November 4 to 5, 2015 and was attended by a number of doctors from the Obstetrics, Gynecology, Pediatric, Internal Medicine, General Surgery and Emergency Departments of the respective hospitals under the Ministry.

Healthcare Issues Ministry of Health hosts 3rd Bifurcation Symposium in Dubai
Al Qassimi Hospital in association with the UAE Heart Association recently held the 3rd Bifurcation Symposium at the Ritz-Carlton, Dubai International Financial Centre, under the patronage of Minister of Health H.E. Abdul Rahman Al Owais and H.E. Dr. Yousef Al Serkal, Health Assistant Undersecretary for Hospitals Sector. Representatives from more than 30 countries gathered in Dubai to discuss the latest developments in coronary artery disease treatments and cardiac catheterization operations to treat bifurcation stenting. The participants included over 200 cardiologists, consultants from GCC countries, and experts from European nations, the United States, and other territories.

Healthcare Issues Activities for MOH ‘Healthy Children 2021 national campaign to bring fun and joy for kids of all ages at City Centre Mirdif
The Ministry of Health (MoH) has announced activities lined up for its celebration of the ‘Healthy Children 2021,’ a national campaign aimed towards promoting good health practices and values among children in the UAE. Held in collaboration with the National Campaign Task Force, the initiative complements the country’s ‘National Program for Government Communications.’ The ‘Healthy Children 2021’ program is being held under the slogan ‘2021 Step’ and will act as an innovative platform to showcase a wide range of awareness raising activities on the importance of health, particularly focusing on dietary habits—helping reduce the proportion of obesity among today’s children to 12 per cent by the year 2021. The program is set to run from November 5 to November 7, 2015 at the City Centre Mirdif.

Healthcare Issues Ministry of Health organizes 6th Travel Road Exhibition for Tourism for employees
Dr. Mohamed Salim Al Olama, Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Health, has inaugurated at the Ministry’s Dubai headquarters the 6th Travel Road Exhibition for Tourism, in the presence of major international travel and tourism companies. Organized in cooperation with Middle East travel agency Dnata travel, the exhibition displayed major tourism and hotel offerings for the Ministry’s employees.
